That seems to fall in line with a comment made on FB from the PUTS page regarding those who couldnt afford or missed out on the boxset. Something about some good news about what was in the pipeline.
Lol named same as Panacea's album "12 Step Program". Will see how this turns out
Just woke up, just seen this...
Not pay for PUTS
lol.
What about the vinyl?!!
"Jaw drops"......new album.....free??? To much to take in....when, where, how??? Help!!!
So, let's do some digging.
They have released eight full length albums, two EP (non instrumental) albums, and a compilation album (which really wasn't released by them per se)
01 The Next Step (1998)
02 Question in the Form of an Answer (2000)
03 O.S.T. (2002)
04 ...Or Stay Tuned (2003)
05 Stepfather (2006)
06 Fun DMC (2008)
07 Carried Away (2009)
08 Highlighter (2011)
09 American Men Vol. 1 (2001)
10 Other Such Tracks (2003)
11 The Om Years (Favorites, Rarities & B-Sides) (2008)
Could full length album number 9 be the 12th "music and words" release, being the 12th "step" since The Next Step of People Under The "Stairs" ? Maybe I'm reaching or I'm dead on. We'll see.
I didn't get a chance to chat with them, which I was kind of disappointed by. Not that I expected to, just thought it would have been cool.
There was no other mention of the new album after the announcement at the beginning of the show.
If it was any other group I'd say your DEF reaching, but with Thes and how diabolical he is I'd say you just pinned the tail on the donkey! You, my friend Medina, are one sick dude... A good kind of sick though! Glad you had a blast at the show last night.
And Sactown, using a title that's been used isn't a big deal to me, especially when you consider how many groups have used the same sample... It's all about how YOU (meaning the Artist) flip it imho... And if Medina is right then they have flipped that script proper!

Oh, definitely SLC, I wasn't meaning anything by it, just thought it was an interesting point (as Saakki noted too).SLC HEAD said:

I liked Panacea's album a lot (even got a limited-press clear blue vinyl of it, signed by K Murdock), and it was cohesive and well-thought out, but no offense to K Murd or Raw Poetic: I'm way more stoked about this release!! H3ll Yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
Didn't chat? Nooooo! Still, you got some dope vids up on instagram I noticed, and it seemed like a killer show.esomedina said:

I would've thought there would've been a world premiere of one of the new tracks along with the announcement. Did bring the uniqueness to any part of the show last night? I wanna hear the deets, yo.
I said "Mike T. is President" at one of Double K's instagram posts and he tagged me back and told me that I was president. Nice. I also tried to hype up the TURNER/PORTUGAL 2016 ticket for the next election on FB, and got like 10 likes. Haha, I'm a nerd, so 10 likes is a medal of honor.
Can't. Friggin'. Wait. for the next album. The PUTS is soaking up the news days for me now. Got the 10YOTO set coming in. Also got LA Mike mixtape coming in from eBay. Album 9 news in the wind. Maybe some Gitar soon?
Oh, by the way, I'm sure everyone on here knows it, but for the kid too afraid to raise his hand in class: the "12-Step Program" is a process started by Alcoholics Anonymous to get people off of alcohol. Wiki, y'all:
These are the original twelve steps as published by Alcoholics Anonymous:
1. We admitted we were powerless over alcohol—that our lives had become unmanageable.
2. Came to believe that a power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.
3. Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understood Him.
4. Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves.
5. Admitted to God, to ourselves, and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs.
6. Were entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character.
7. Humbly asked Him to remove our shortcomings.
8. Made a list of all persons we had harmed, and became willing to make amends to them all.
9. Made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others.
10. Continued to take personal inventory, and when we were wrong, promptly admitted it.
11. Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God as we understood Him, praying only for knowledge of His will for us and the power to carry that out.
12. Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to alcoholics, and to practice these principles in all our affairs.
If PUTS flips it like Panacea did, that means there will be 12 tracks on the new album.
Anyone want to guess at anything else? Maybe PUTS brings back some of the old roster? Odel? JazMak?
I'm thinking the album might just be a mix of ever record they have done this far. Some of the rough stuff from their early work, the jazzy stuff from "Question" and "O.S.T." then the transition they went through from "Stepfather" all the way through "Highlighter"
I would really like to hear some solo stuff from Double K and Thes on the album. Don't get me wrong, they have great chemistry together but I think Double K has one of the hardest deliveries of any rapper past and present and a couple of solo tracks from him would be nice.
I will wait for more specific information before making any speculations. Sounds good so far!
any new PUTS is a good nay, EXCELLENT thing.
not sure what i would think about not having it on wax, but i will reserve judgement until we get some info straight from the PL70.
I'm holding out for an 8-track release this time.
Needs to be on vinyl. Sold out 2000 copies of highlighter, surely its financially viable for a similar release
It would tight if they did this release in all 7 " 's . Like 6 45's.....that would be awesome......there has to be some vinyl form released......Thes please dude??
