Stoked! Really looking forward to the SF show and this release. Hope I can secure a ticket. Also sounds like a dope bill of artists, so I'll probably leave a few pounds lighter from the workout I get doin' that ol' Rob Ford, y'all.
I feel horrible that the non-Cali cats might not be able to get their hands on this straight from Thes, though... IF I CAN, maybe I can convince him to part with a few extras for the forum heads (if I promise not to make a profit on it), but I have a feeling that he's serious as a heart attack this time.
On the Instagram pic thread, he mentioned this "one-ticket, one-record, no exceptions, no mail-outs" thing being his way of giving the middle-finger to the eBay resellers. Usually, if he sells online or makes ANY extra, someone always finds a way to make independent bank off it. I agree with Fecam, though; a few people who come to the show won't want it (or may come just for the record). I think it's very unethical to resale (if someone doesn't want it, they shouldn't take one home), but if it happens, I hope you guys pick it up without getting gouged too badly.
I've tried to make a value judgment in my OWN life to only buy re-sale if the item is out-of-print. MAYBE I'll get a cheap, in-print item if the artist is overcharging for the initial sale, but that's never happened with PUTS. Thes certainly isn't overcharging for this: at $17 a ticket (minus the amount the venue/promoter takes), Thes isn't probably profiting off this much. It's another one for the fans, which is crazy admirable.
Long story short: it may not be realistic of Thes to think that he can get a release out with NO reselling, and it might suck to have to wait for an overcharged resale if you're not in Cali, but I'm hoping everything will shake out somehow. If I can figure a way to get some of these albums to forum heads cheaply/free and convey the profits to Thes, I'll try. You guys are the bomb crew (PUTS Army), and I wouldn't wanna leave you stranded. Just don't expect too much...
