I know the MLS isnt up to par to the Premier League or laliga...or lots of other leagues around the globe...but its getting better! and Chicago fire games r hella fun. People light off flares and go crazy...its dope. My fav aspect of sports is atmosphere...and thats why i def respect "football" soo much...because its atmospheres are unmatched in sports,
in chicago, they recently built this "european style" stadium for the fire...its pretty sick
i was at the conference finals last year when chicago advanced to the finals and it was nuts...i def appreciate the flow of the game....like i said b4 its super close to hockey....my one complaint is that you could hit each other more
...my buddy got me into barcelona...i dig them
Haha it looks fun there
Cool, I'm glad to see its growing in popularity in the States.
Yeah football games can have amazing atmospheres.
I watched a Liverpool game on TV and the fans (I think) were remembering the Hillsborough disaster or protesting about something... anyway for the first 6 minutes of the game they were singing "You'll never walk alone" and then when it stopped the crowd went crazy, the noise was deafening and gave me goosebumps... and that was on tv!
The crowd really is the 12th man.
You gotta love it when flares are going off.
Doesnt really happen in the UK but the Italians are mad for it!
Yeah it does have good flow and I get what you mean with the hockey thing.
Haha you'd be surprised how much contact there is.
They dont hit each other, but watch for off the ball contact like at corners and free kicks. And generally watch defenders lots of grabbing and tussling.
Its all about standing your ground.
If you watch CDM (Central Defence Midfielders) like Alex Song (Arsenal/Cameroon) Mascherano (Liverpool/Argentina) and Nigel De Jong (Man City/Netherlands) you'll see that they'll use their whole body to block space and muscle infront of other players. You're not meant to use your arms really but you can shield the ball pretty well and give your opponent a little knock while looking innocent lol.
People who play CB Centre Back (the big defenders in the middle at the back) will be able to tell you lots of stories like biting strikers/attackers the first chance they get just so they keep away lol.
Yeah Dodo, Barcelona or Arsenal... and soon to be Man City
