Does anybody have any tips for digging in Southern Califorina? I'm going to be the area for two weeks in November and would be grateful (or is that crateful?) for any advice.
I'm going to check out Bagatelle in Long Beach and Amoeba in LA. What other towns should I check out? San Diego? Palm Springs?

Cheers for the tip Sweetness. Still haven't figured out how we're going to see all the things we want to see in two weeks but I'll let you know if we come to SD.

Turntable lab has some sweet turntable related paraphernalia, not much for digging though. Amoeba is fantastic, a bit overwhelming though. Make sure to set a spending cap, or you will make your wallet cry. :P

gonna probably hits joints that sell more second hand stuff, good idea with the spending cap although my girlfriend is with me so she'll probably keep me in check.

I also have probably I very silly question here however...
I'm over when it's Thanksgiving. Is this something that's still celebrated by everyone?
As a limey I have absolutely no idea what I should do on this day. Any tips?

lol the fez and glasses.
Yeah ask them what took them so long to help in the Wars etc.
Maybe mock their lack of history (1776, I've got older pants than that!) and use irony a lot.
Also point out that they are using like 80% of the Worlds recources... which we used to own!!
Call them Candian, pretend to be unimpressed by everything and wear a monocle.
And prehaps ask people what happened to the Native Americans.

Well obviously that's plan A, but it's gonna take alot of Bud Light or whatever they drink over there to even get drunk!

Bud in bottles over 'ere is kinda poop so Bud Light must be like drinking watered down Bud 
Altho you will be able to get a 40oz of something tasty
