Alright, I finally have awaken from the dead... My throat is super messed up from shouting but man what an awesome show!
Burnell Washburn started things off with some low-key beats and Sweatshop Union did a great job pumpin' the crowd up for the P.
The P set started off with Some Highlights: Self Destruction, straight into The Second Track followed by a grip of old tracks. They seemed to be doing a lot of dope remix's with classic P hits, the beats they were rappin' over were dope as f***! Towards the end of the set they threw in some Too Much Birthday and had the crowd sing Happy Birthday to some chick in the crowd. The Encore, dope as always, was ended with San Francisco Knights... which Thes said would be the last time they perform the gem for the SLC crowd, glad I was there for it.
So here are a few topics we brushed up on during our conversation: Wonderful Radio is right around the corner, Thes also said that they have already started working on album #9, this sh!t made me so happy to hear. Some fresh new hat designs will be hitting the PL70 Store soon. Thes says some new, dope color combos are about to be unveiled so y'all keep your eye's peeled for that one. I also asked Thes about WRLA 98.7 because it was on a T shirt I was going to get(but they were out of my size). This is the baddest sh!t ever, check this out: The P have a mobile FM broadcasting station that can project a signal in 5 mile radius. Basically the idea is, and keep in mind they haven't done this yet due to time constraints, but the next time they come to your town, tune in to 87.9 and listen to the custom P station made just for YOU! f***ing bad ass if you ask me. Brings a new meaning to Pirate Radio. Thes also expressed his appreciation for Nick (SF Knight) steppin' up and helping PL70 out in it's time of need. And after seeing these dudes like 6 times, we finally got a pic with them too.
Lastly, Thes and Double wanted me to express their gratitude to the P Forum and asked me to tell everyone what up and Thes promises he'll be back as soon as he is done being the busiest cat in the industry. And Sactown, I told the homies "What UP!?" from Sactown and they pumped their fist and said that's the homie and say YO!
As far as Merch goes, I scooped an Eddie Chibbum 3/4 sleeve and the El Rey DVD, would have bought more but the 2 Colorado shows cleaned out all of the sh!t in my size...
All in all, the night was amazing as expected... Lookin forward to the next time the baddest DUO alive rolls through, I gotta go program my fm tuner to 87.9 now! Has anyone seen my voice, I must have misplaced it...
