SERIOUSLY.
i didn't take any pics because i was with my buddy who got so pissed off when i told other people about it.
i'll get some next time i go back. a photo of that room with all the gear in it would blow your guys minds, i'm sure.
he has all kinds of crazy rare stuff... acetates, dub plates, a bunch of those crazy old super thick black record type things, test presses. it's nuts.
he has 4 quadrophonic systems set up on his living room, and 6 or 7 crates of quad records.
i dug with my friend there for about 6 hours on friday and i would guess that we maybe saw 5% of everything he has, the problem being that it's boxes stacked on boxes, and there is literally no room to unstack more than one or 2 of them at a time. also, i kept getting sidetracked every time i found another crate of 45s... i loves me some 45s.
he definitely knows what he has though, and he is just starting to "let go"... seems very reluctant to sell all this stuff, but i think his wife has left him no choice. he's been giving us great prices, but there's the occasional "oh, no, that one isn't for sale". (i had the entire original Beatles MONO pressings, like all of them, in my hands, but he just laughed at me... hey, a guy can dream, right?).
i paid $100 for the 60 some LPs and around 50 45s grabbed on friday. pretty good, but i had just bought that SL-1700 from him, so he was def. giving me a deal.
i'm really hoping Santa can somehow swing me that Sansui amp... drool.
