I've welled up each time I've listened to Partir (usually towards the end), don't know what it is about that track that really strikes an emotional chord with me. Amazing album, really happy with the purchase and looking forward to the CD/vinyl arriving, and even more looking forward to listening outside on a warm summer day with some nice headphones on.
Lovely album! Gets better after every listen. Big ups to Dj Day! Would like to hear more stuff like this. Also excellent mixing and mastering on this album.
+1 everything sounds so crisp on this... All the extra touches really stand out.Saakki said:

I 'specially like that can crack and bubbulatin' at the beginning/end of ode to a fiend. Makes me wanna head to the fridge every time.

Even your reflection is giving it a thumbs up.
WOW! This album is just fantastic... From start to finish its a musical journey. Its freezing cold outside in the UK right now, but this album has summer vibes just oozing from every hi hat and beat. Its only going to sound better with each listen as the sunshine comes out and the BBQ's come out of retirement.
10/10 for DJ Day (Or The Day seeing as he has now changed his "persona") the album is a masterpiece in quality control, and how every little bit has been made the best that it can be. ATM, my favorite track has to be "Land of 1000 Chances" although that's probably only because there's a video for it and it just puts me in the summer mood. On the you tube video i believe it says that there's going to be a further 2 videos. Here's the full quote...
The first video and title track from DAY's new album Land Of 1000 Chances out 2/12/13 on Piecelock 70. Shot by award winning Director/Cinematographer Erick Lee (shootlife.net), this video is the first of a 3 part series taking the viewer on a surreal visual journey through California, starting in iconic San Francisco.
What an album, cant wait for more videos.
Peace
Loving this album, & also the Way Out Of Living II Mixtape, (some much needed summery vibes).
Wondered if anyone knows what the 'Inch By Inch' track on the mixtape is? Coming up blank here.
Finally got around to buying it this morning. It will be today's soundtrack. Will post up my review/experience later.
I love this album. I've played it from start to finish for a whole week now!
I finally got around to making the purchase! I have yet to receive my LP but have been listening to the free DL like crazy. This album is real dope, Peter Brown y'all!
I'm really NOT the cat to put the same track on blast over and over again (maybe the same album every now and then...), but that title track and green fin are BOTH instant-repeaters if I ever heard one...
I had to dig up Day's earlier album The Day Before and listened to that and then Land of 1000 Chances. Very nice and you can hear some shifting and progression maybe but a lot of same elements on both albums. I also listened some Dj Alibi on the same listening session..goes well with Dj Day
