#009: Dan Le Sac Vs. Scroobius Pip

You what?! No it’s not a mashup. Producer Dan Le Sac and emcee Scroobius Pip’s mentalistic sounds have been making minor waves recently over the internet scene and are finally getting some time on the radio waves.

Scroobius Pip looks like a cross between W G Grace and Mr Taliban but raps with a certain understated style over somewhat trippy electronic production.

Peep their new single Thou Shalt Always Kill on Lex Records (who previously made us listen to DangerDoom so can’t be too bad). Limited 7" out 16th April plus a download version as ever… it would be cool if these guys blew up, even if it’s only because they have the best combined name ever.

The lyrics can speak for themselves but one lines definitely needs highlighting:

“Thou shalt remember that guns, bitches and bling were never part of the four elements and never will be.”

Even if their vinyl throwing demonstrates a worrying disregard for analogue they are still definitely hip hop.
