YoYoPo on "Goodbye Europe"

Can't really not mention this.

I know there is a range of political opinions across the UK, and I respect that. But today I'm absolutely gutted, angry and dejected.

This morning it was announced that the UK will be leaving the EU.
48.1% voted to remain. 51.9% voted to leave.

I understand people's problems with bureaucracy and accountability within such a large organisation, but the leave campaign was based on fear of immigration and financial mis-information.

The result is that our economy is going to plummet. Scotland may well now leave the UK. Northern Ireland may well now leave the UK and re-join Ireland as a whole. The EU may suffer a similar disintegration. And big cities like London, Cardiff and Manchester, which overwhelmingly voted to remain, are stuck with middle England and Wales in a situation we did not vote for.

This has been a sh!tty week. RIP Sactown. RIP EU. RIP UK. <img src="https://www.putsonline.co.uk/forum/my-plugins/bb-smilies/pfunk/icon_sad.gif" title=":-(" class="bb_smilies" />

Does anyone take this guy even remotely seriously? He comes across about as sincerely as Wayne Newton! He made a total laughing stock of himself when he was in the UK last month.

What do people in America think of this guy?

Interesting article about hip hop being used as a tool to keep the rebellion going... It's crazy that cats were jailed for MCing... Thoughts?

So its the AV referendum tomorrow 5th May.

Yes to AV?
No to AV?
What is AV?
Who is Davy?!

I think its important to vote because then you're at least having a say.
And people laid their lives on the line for our freedom to vote.
So we owe it to them.

From my understanding the sensible thing is to vote No to AV?!

"The £80 million bill for Nick Clegg's AV referendum has had to be met by councils, despite the economic crisis, it was claimed yesterday."

What are everyones views?

Calling Mambo for his political bashing and Yoyo with his straight thinking!

Peace.

SactownConnection on "The World is F***ed, Part II (this time, no cops)"

I really don't wanna start this thread, but I'm so disgusted that I had to share it.

So, I remember about half a year ago, someone posted a story about disliking cops and said the world was f***ed up... well, here's another one (non-cop related) that shows that Orange County is a cesspool, and the sad thing is that there are people all over the world like this. The fact that elected officials were in on it makes me afraid.

I just saw this on YouTube and it was the first time (in a LONG time) that I felt disturbed to my very core. Warning: graphic verbal abuse involved (if there is such a thing).
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NutFkykjmbM

And to tie in the other highly controversial PUTS forum thread about science vs. religion: I'm essentially an atheist (humanist and rationalist, really), but I'm okay with certain components of religion and I see why some people need it in their lives. I can bow to and respect that; y'all may be right about the whole Game of Life. But for my religious peeps on the boards, PLEASE tell me that you agree that this video crosses all bounds of decency.

To those of you who dislike controversy in the P forums, I'm sorry.
And everyone in the P forum: MUCH LOVE.

Hip hop star Wyclef Jean has formally registered to stand for president of his native Haiti as it rebuilds after the devastating January earthquake.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-10888173

There will also be issues of security surrounding his candidacy within the volatile and still devastated country. In the lyrics of one of his songs, written long before he conceived a real presidential run, he imagined standing for president of the United States:

"If I was president,

I'd get elected on Friday,

Assassinated on Saturday,

And buried on Sunday,

I'd be back at work on Monday."
