Quite different from what I expected going in ("surf film" + plot outline) but very enjoyable nontheless. <img src="https://www.putsonline.co.uk/forum/my-plugins/bb-smilies/pfunk/icon_cool.gif" title="8-)" class="bb_smilies" />

Surprisingly, the cameo of Mr. Portugal (Birdman/Batman <img src="https://www.putsonline.co.uk/forum/my-plugins/bb-smilies/pfunk/icon_smile.gif" title=":-)" class="bb_smilies" /> ) wasn't the highlight either, although it's hilariously over the top.

The characters, dialogue + acting (Danny Webb's reactions + facial expressions in particular had me rolling) would't seem out of place in a Guy Richie movie and there's additional layers of satire and private jokes bubbling beneath the surface throughout as well.

I think they did a very nice job on the cinematography, too, dropping in creative little shots here and there and smothly editing in various elements of lower quality footage. At no point did this feel like a "low budget" production. (My recollection of 'Street Dreams' being that it came off rather heavy handed/corny, like your run of the mill [M]TV or Disney production, relying on clichéd storytelling, overly "stylish" visuals and it's "celebrity" cast. 'The Outrider' managed to deftly sidestep all of these potential pitfalls IMO.)
