Damn, Charlamagne has some really good points here. Nice to see him speak honestly and candidly on something for a change. On the radio show he's usually very annoying, arrogant and sucks up to the artists they interview.

Has anyone seen Kanye's interview with Zane Lowe? I swear he reaches new levels of nutter on there.

Here's my deal:

I've managed to disconnect a lot of my personal disgust from my decision-making process and my outward displays of emotion. Almost like I've disregarded my disgust. It still matters to me if I want it to, but I'm trying to be more of a "live and let live" cat lately. I mean, my wife listens to that dance pop b.s. (I think Ke$ha's the worst of the lot, but they all suck), and I want to bash her iPhone with a brick when she starts playing it. BUT, I've just kinda learned not to say so much about how I'm feeling. If someone else wants to be more forward with their opinion, I'm completely not gonna be critical about it 'cause a) sometimes I slip and let loose myself and b) I can still admire people who can be forward and honest with telling someone that something's a train wreck.

That being said, I didn't like DJ Shadow's foray into hyphy, I didn't like Muggs' dub step choice, I'm still on the fence about some music that other people on the forums & on Facebook like... and as much as creative arrogance is an indispensable part of hip hop, I hate it when it goes too far and turns rappers (or anyone else) into giant c0cks when they AREN'T in a cipher or on stage.

If I were to unbottle all the anger I feel about organized religion, obstructionist politics, aggressive arrogance, anti-intellectualism, and the other things that make this life unbearable, I'd write y'all essays all night. But when it comes to seeing arrogant rappers on some flat screen in Target or reading in the news about Chris Brown smacking Rihanna or something, I just shrug or give a gas face or something, and spend my time on something more meaningful (like listening to PUTS... Or eating a good meal... Or even takin' a sh*t). I wanna call them out, but after struggling so long to fight the idiots, I think I'm letting them win lately. Can't tell if it's bad (cause they'll take over) or good (cause they'll self-destruct). Anyway...

Yea....him and Jay-Z are soooo corporate these days and they are trying sooo hard to seem "revolutionary" and gangsta still...very forced feeling......I heard in an interview with Queens of the Stone Age singer Josh Homme that Jay-Z gave the band what he called "a gift" at a festival show, a bottle of champagne, and Jay-Z wanted them to take a picture with it so he could post it on his social media basically for marketing purposes. Josh smashed it in front of him because in his words "That wasn't a gift.....it was a marketing tool". All these rappers that sell shoes and drinks on a corporate level are so full of their own bull$hit. "I'm a revolutionary." Right hahaha.....nope.
