Trench, see if you can check out "falling down" and "nuke proof suit EP" by jehst, both amazing. And try and get your hands on the YnR sample album, YnR (young and restless) was a label, dunno if it's still runnin or what, but its an absolute treat, and covers almost all the bases for british hip hop. You might be able to find it on amazon, but there's no way you'll be able to download it. Also if your digging the uk hip hop vibe and want cds and sh!t, check out http://www.suspectpackages.com, awesome online shop for that ish... peace.

I LOVE UK HIP HOP!!!! So much to address here... I prefer Falling Down to return of the drifter personally... some of the tunes on that album man, Manimals...

" I move cool like koala, chew eucalyptus, eyes bright red like acid dipped litmus..." so f*cking good. Jehst is like the UK DOOM with his lyrics... and what's the tune he does with K-Lash... "Give it Here"

"While most man sleep i meditate in mountain peaks of mozambique"... f*cking class... LP did good with that one. I love the Sagas of K-lash... parrowdice... beautiful tune...

Also have to drop props on Sundragon, previously known as Supa T, also a member of champions of nature (how good is that salsa smurf tune). I've been waiting for sundragon to release an L-P for about a decade. And no doubt I'll be waiting another decade for it too...

Gotta love some of the UK Hip Hop scene

Phi-Life Cyphers "Millenium Metaphors" is also a dope LP - Specially the production.

The Herbalisers have some decent stuff out there - Production again + alot of good featured emcees.

Nightmares on Wax - Amazing stuff, specially when DJ EASE flipped the sample from Pharcyde - Passin' me by (Quincy Jones I believe)

Nice to see all you UK heads aswell! Makes me feel like I'm not alone

ah dodo I have no idea what that sample is!

As an album it's so atmospheric - the Star Wars/desert/medieval references hold together - and I think it really stands out as a concept album that is actually consistent throughout. In terms of another concept album that has a consistent theme I'd say check out Kashmere's In The Hour of Chaos.
Albums in a similar vein to M&S... not sure! (I swear there's another concept album I'm always talking about but can't remember it right now...)

Return of the Drifter is another fave. I'd say order of preference is :
Masquerades > Return of the Drifter > Falling Down (Jehst's next album) > It's All Happening Now (which is ill but has a few fillers. The track with Klashnekoff is hard-as-f*** tho!!)
