I have the numark 1650's and I like them, but that mixer is kind of sh!tty. I guess it's o.k. for a start, but I had one like that and I hated how dusty it would get with the non optical contact, so the cut on the fader sounds like sh!t. I just moved in with a buddy of mine and now I just use his with the optical and so I have just realized how much better it sounds. But if your on a budget, then ya gotta do what ya gottta do, it's better than nothing.

Alright, get ready to spend some $ though. Don't buy a computer, don't make the mistake that I and many others have, it'll sound cheap and soft just like lure of software/pc beats it's cheap and the software is downloadable. Go buy a technics 1200mk2, used or new doesn't matter, buy a brand new cartridge, a Shure M97 xE, that is the real deal, not made for scratching or any other use other than RECORDING it'll capture the sound better than any other needle for the price range. The needle is sold at Turntablelab.com That's your turntable and needle set up. As far as an arranger/sampler I'm not the expert you'll have to ask someone else about this but that is a good turntable setup.

Haha, I started off just like you, with my Dads records. Trust me, this is only the beggining...

The best advice I can give you is to not stop. You'll goto the record shop and come back home with some crap that doesn't work. It's all good, it's all experience. Just make sure you don't make the same mistakes you did the first time round.

Search all charity, second-hand and thrift shops for cheap vinyl.

Also, research helps. Sites like http://www.soulstrut.com , http://www.breakz4dayz.com and http://www.vinylvulture.co.uk (good for UK charity shop diggers)will give you sound clips and such, epsecially Breakz4Dayz.

If your selling records, make sure you have arough idea of how much it's worth. Record Shop Dealers love to take the piss. I remember I had the OG copy of Minnie Ripperton's 'Come Into My Garden' which is worth like £60-70. He tried to tell me that it was a re-issue but I knew what the deal was. Don't have it from shops <img src="https://www.putsonline.co.uk/forum/my-plugins/bb-smilies/pfunk/icon_evil.gif" title="}:-@" class="bb_smilies" /> !

Anyhow, good luck, show me some of your beats when your ready.
