This is a great question. Man it is so hard to explain why you like one piece of music over the other but someone mentioned the organic quality of the sound. I agree, this is just simple unpretentious vibe music that has such a deep musical layer to it while being completely simple at the same time that you have got to love it. I can't ever listen to E business without being put in a trance, same goes with that Code Check song and a number of other tracks on the album. Fact is, even when you listen to the last track and skip to the end where Thes & Double are just shouting out the homies, that is still one of the nicest beats you'll ever hear.

By the same note, I'm so glad that not every album sounds like Questions. The P completely pumped the pace up and the energy level on OST on songs like The Outrage, Joyride and of course Hang Lose while still keeping that relaxed mellow vibe on Kidd Drunkadelic and Keeping it Live and of course Breakdown.

When you want to relax and have a high stress level though their is no album to me quite like Questions. Maybe that's why it's my favorite.

On a random note. Between Carried Away, The Mike & Chris Show (highly underrated) On & On, Breakdown, and even Play It Again (love the beat and gregorian chant blend that mix perfectly together at the end, has anyone else noticed how strong the P ends their albums?

SactownConnection said: Cool. Thank you. I think that at least answers my questions. If I'd been in my hip-hop phase a little earlier in life, I would've definitely peeped this album sooner than I did, but other than the "I grew up with it", I can appreciate and agree with everything y'all said. So many tunes on here are instant classics. Each track on the album does get doper and doper. I straight OD on it.

Even so, I'm still at a loss to pick my favorite album. I know it's not Next Step or American Men Vol 1 (although myself and the iPod give 'em a lot of love), but Question, OST, ...Or Stay Tuned, Stepfather, Fun DMC, and Carried Away are all so fresh. I get f*cked up in the head trying to piece it:

"Well, Question has this consistency, it's on FIRE and sh!t... but 'The Outrage'? 'The Dig'? Man, it's gotta be OST... Oh sh!t, 'Plunken Em's playing on my iPod, dude, can't WAIT 'til 'Yo' comes on... Nah, f*** it, Stay Tuned is the best... but I don't know, I was blasting 'The Brownout' the other day, and that dude in the next car asked me what I was listening to, Stepfather's got it, you know what I'm saying? ... ... ... Cool, I just rolled up to the party. sh!t, I better bring in 'Fun DMC' to liven it up, 'cause you know 'Anotha' (BBQ)' always gets the homies singin... but that one fool EJ is trippin on 'Down in LA', gotta bring that too..."

It'll never end; the battle rages on. F*ck you, Thes. F*ck you, Double. Y'all done f*cked my head up.

WORD sactown. The P f%cks up my head everytime they come up on my playlist.

I know the original post said not to single one song out, but how can you not with "Youth Explosion." At least I can't.

For me, this song is straight raw and I love all the aspects of it. First and foremost, Thes straight up kills it with his verse; I'd put it up against any other Thes verse on a P track. Mike's verse isn't bad, but I think he dominates this song with the scratching (almost as bad ass as The Double K Song). The samples, drums, and loops are on point; another hip-hop artist uses a a different sample from one of the same songs... but I think their song sucks. Even the intro and fade are money.

The two times I have been to a P show they haven't performed it... I'm not sure if they ever do it live anymore. At the Atlanta show recently the opening act introduced the P by covering it... Thes was blown away. I saw a YouTube video of an in-store where it was done... maybe it was done at the El Rey show? You can't leave a P show disappointed.... but some day I'll see them bust it live... maybe Jappy Jap, too.
