I have a ton of Carlin, but can someone tell me some good Bill Hicks to check out?

Also, the WB boxset of Richard Pryor has most of the good stuff, but also grab "evolution revolution" to get a lot of the early stuff that was bootlegged on all those Laff records... it has all of "Craps (After Hours)" which has gotta be one of the best (ATCQ sampled it for their "After Hours" track), the 8-minute monologue he did for Wattstax, and there's another hilarious wino/junkie meeting on it.

Other than that, I recorded the DVDs of Live on the Sunset Strip (the DVD is better than the record of the same name... they are different...) and Live and Smoking, and I recorded a lot of the stuff from The Richard Pryor Show Boxset: the Rev. James L. White skit, the stand-up bonus feature on the DVD, and the "Richard Pryor Roast" bonus feature on the DVD... the roast is especially funny, 'cause you get to hear marsha warfield, robin williams, tim reid, johnny witherspoon, and paul mooney talk about richard, and then richard fires back at each of them...

"i have a thing for nudity, don't i? i did that in vegas... you know, run through the casino nude... jumped on the twenty-one table, said: 'blackjack.' "

HAWWWWWW" ha ha, i just cracked myself up typing that sh!t. He was my favorite till i discovered Bill Hicks. But Bill Hicks is not so much a comedian as a messiah...

Clearly bill got a lot from richard though. Everyone got a lot from Richard...

All I've got of prior is that WB box set, but i think that's all his major recordings...

Ahh, death... I'd pull a Slim Pickens and strap myself to a nuke... when it went off, most of my body would be split-second converted directly to energy anyway, so yeah... the next time you homies saw me, I'd be running through your neurons so you could move your arm to lift that 40oz.

Speaking of Richard Pryor, I have 248 tracks on my iPod of him, and I don't think even one of them is bad... I don't know how many stand-up comedians I could say that about. A lot of his early stuff is still searching for a foothold, but it's still funny, just a bit more innocent.

But yeah, Robin Williams, Rodney Dangerfield, Sam Kinison, Jerry Seinfeld, Henry Rollins... all of them have tracks that I skip every now and then.

Hearing Sam Kinison talk about religion is the funniest d*mn thing in the world though. He used to be a fire-and-brimstone preacher before he entered comedy, so he still treats Christianity with respect (which is probably more than it deserves nowadays) but he messes with "the message"... like there was one that started off: "jesus was never married... no wife would ever buy the resurrection... he takes off on a friday with 12 of his buddies...."

Robin Williams is cool, but recently, he hasn't been as on point... I think all those movies they put him in boned his mind (just like Eddie Murphy)... although "One Hour Photo" and "Insomnia" weren't all that bad...

Henry Rollins is hilarious sometimes, although he isn't aiming for comedy as much as he is for just telling anecdotes... go get the "Live at Luna Park" DVD and check out the bonus 20-min stand-up feature about his battle with Iggy Pop... one of the funniest things I've ever heard...

hmmm, yeah i thought about that... it'd be good. I'm sure i saw so programme recently that said in nepal, when you die, they sometimes give you a sky burial, where you basically are taken to a sacred place and eaten by vultures... that's be cool. Full circle and all that. But that's funeral arrangements, that's something else altogether.

I suppose the best death would be without fear or pain, two slight drawbacks to yon great white shark attack...

Being shot out of a massive cannon would be pretty good... maybe floating off into space would be good too, but you'd have to get up there first. This is definitely the strangest thread on the forum, props to Loudwon...

He reckons it'd be so intense that you'd never feel so alive...

The theory goes walking over two drain/ manhole covers is lucky, whereas three is bad luck. Bad luck can be ousted by walking over a solitary one.

Personally I dont like to walk over drain covers etc, just for fear they might give way.

Also I worry that I'm going to drop my keys down a storm drain (one of those grated ones) then what do you do?!

Did anyone hear that some guy in Southampton dropped his keys down a drain and he was a little drunk and tried to get em but fell in head first and drowned <img src="https://www.putsonline.co.uk/forum/my-plugins/bb-smilies/pfunk/icon_cry.gif" title=":'(" class="bb_smilies" />
