sure, checking something out on MP3 is great to discover new music, but i show my support to groups i love (like the P) buy buying their CD's... and their vinyl, too, if i could just get my damn turntable working.

on a side note, i bought 2 copies of Carried Away the day it was released here in eastern Canada, from 2 separate record stores- AND IT WAS THE ONLY COPY AT BOTH STORES!?! this i don't understand, but it stands to reason if they aren't out there, people can't buy 'em- and they would have, too... there's a solid hip hop scene here.
i had a few very disappointed friends.
just sayin'.

Yeah, I haven't even seen it sold in the Best Buys, Targets, etc. around my house or my work. Kinda bums me out, 'cause if they were selling it, I'd be taking all the copies off CA off the shelf and putting them on top of the new Black Eyed Peas, Pearl Jam, etc.

That's just big business though. I like to think of this situation like this: an artist from that glass-blowing island by Venice (Murano??) makes a gorgeous and delicate statuette and wants to sell it for $25, and everybody runs by him to get a sh!tty plaster-of-paris copy of Rodan's "The Thinker" that was made on an assembly line for $29.99. I'll usually download an album to preview it before I buy it. That way I avoid purchasing bad albums. If the artist is a dependable favorite of mine, I will buy the album blind though.
