Oh snap, I slept on it! I was already packing my things and about to head to work when I realized I forgot about Record Store Day! This year didn't have much for me in store (hah! :-D) anyway, so I'm not mad at all. Like they say, every day is record store day! Just about a week earlier I took home 40 records from the Euro crates and a nice copy of Thes' Lifestyle Marketing from my favorite shop in town, so I guess I'm good for now. <img src="https://www.putsonline.co.uk/forum/my-plugins/bb-smilies/pfunk/icon_biggrin.gif" title=":-D" class="bb_smilies" />

Plus a couple weeks ago I got my hands on the 2013 RSD-exclusive picture disc of Enter The 37th Chamber by El Michels Affair. I've never been into picture discs that much but ever since I've seen DJ Qbert's collection on Crate Diggers I had to get some. He's got a whole backpack full of sweet picture discs!

Pretty much any JBs are funky fresh, but there's something about that album. I also like Breakin' Bread (altho it's a bit more polished). Maceo, Fred, Jabo, Clyde, Catfish... All those guys are on point.

hey Sac, Cake is from Sacramento, you familiar with those guys? Ohhh yeah, definitely. I didn't listen to them a lot myself (I was a jazz/funk nutcase by them time I'd heard about them), but I had high school buddies that would bump them religiously, catch all their shows and get every last album. I think I saw one of my friends make a FB post about the set... If I remember correctly, there were a few Deftones fans in the school too. Sacramento's produced a weird array of celebrity.

And I'm not sure if they're official record store day releases, but we'll be seeing new Brian Blade Fellowship and Gil-Scott Heron albums on the same day. The Gil is a limited vinyl-only release but the Brian Blade will see a standard Blue Note release later in May. And on the topic of Blue Note, has anyone on here peeped any of their 75th anniversary remasters? First set dropped last month but I haven't heard anything about them, nor have I seen them anywhere around town (Portland, OR).

Also, I've been thinking about selling my teal Land of 1000 Chances (#8/50) for a while now. I put it up on discogs after I was laid off last year for the ridiculous price of $140 (I was strapped for cash don't judge me), and completely forgot about it after I got a new job. Just got back on to lower the price to the slightly-less-ridiculous price of $100, but I'd send it off to one of the forum homies for 50 (plus shipping). It's never been played, I originally got it out of collector's fiendin' for eye candy purposes, as I already had the leather original. Hit me with a pm if you're interested
