ITS BACK!!!!! Lol! Just been reading through this thread and WOW! Talk about a physical indication of the mind expanding.. i feel i have (hopfully) come a long long way since calling stars Jeff (the obsession with the name jeff continues however, i have a plant and an inflatable zebra called jeff now) but have been doing some thinking and reading latley and felt this thread needed revisiting...

So what has got me doing all this thinking? Simply, a guy called Alan Watts, some of you may be familiar, some of you may not so heres a few videos to see what this guys about before we (or i on my own) discuss further...

So after watching a couple of these, and reading some of his books im *slowly* beggining to understand what this man is all about and what he was trying to say, im still pretty far from enlightened but i feel im asking the questions and looking at life differently.

When i heard alan watts discussing religion, i was initially shocked, heres an intelligent guy discussing something which (in my mind anyways) is completley abstract and ridiculous, the whole idea of there being some master creator and there being many people and plants and animals allcreated by him was unfathomable. I felt it was all nonsense, but ive always seen my self as an agnostic (belief in something but i dont know what) until i started hearing alan watts speak, and slowly i began to realise that my problem was not with religion, it was with organised religion, then i delved a little deeper into my thinking and realised that faith, belief, hope in something we cannot sense is not wrong, it should be embraced fully, just because it cannot be counted or organised (like the elements are put into a table) does not mean it doesnt exist? Anyways, im rambling now....

The point of all this is that, its amazing how we each, individually, change and grow and mature through life, and while this isnt always a good thing (i can have a tendency to take things too seriously at times) when you reflect on yourself even 2 years ago and see change, its pretty cool!!! Who knows what we will all be like in another few years... lol.

So anyone have any thoughts????

Well, as biological beings, we are here to make more of our species and populate as much area as possible with our ugly-*sses.

As people with some degree of youth left, we're here to have a good time before we are incapable of doing so.

Another big part of life is interpreting what our senses tell us, so we should make the most of that.

I want to believe that we can transcend these purposes, so I think as much as possible on things and hypothesize like a motherf*cker (take it to the realm of the mind), BUT...

in the meantime, life is about procreation, fun, and bombarding our senses.

In short, gimme some p*ssy, a good time, and some good music, and I'll LIVE it up.

I don't think one man alone can figure it out...
Due to there probably isn't a meaning as such...

We just happen to be here by a massive chain of events.

What sort of meaning would we expect to find?

I think if we look at how we've got here and we can answer all related questions then we would probably discover there isnt a meaning as such.
Is it human nature to look for a reason?
Does nature need a reason or does it just exsist?

Can we have some answers without someone saying Philosophy please.

Although going back to what Dodo was saying about the puddle...
If we all had 8 arms 700 eyes and floated upside down we'd all consider that normal and how things were "meant to be".

they've probably already done those experiments dude... but yeah sign up for some clinical trials, easy money. One of my mates at uni did em, sleeping pills, anti-smoking pills, diet pills etc, got paid a tonne of cash, and only had some lasting psychological and physiological damage...

i see what you mean loudwon... my naming of stars could be flawed... if i ever find a star tho im gna name it something cool or really daft.

you think the goverment would sponsor me to do a psycological experiment with mind altering drugs? lock me in a room for a year with everything i would need then in 365 days come ask me the meaning of life, the answer may be 42 or Fish. but at least we would have an answer. lol

Haha, I was under the impression it took millions of years to evolve.
And usually getting high (I dont know about shrooms) usually slows things down.
Maybe it evolves your mind like allowing you to access other areas of your brain... like you can go upstairs in your head... there is a comfy couch up there and a fridge full of ideas oooh

Jeff cooler than R136a1 I dont know...
I think they use those codes so they know where the stars are?!

Also there are a quite a few stars... there are between 100-400 Billion Stars in our Galaxy The Milky Way, and there are as many Galaxies as there are stars in a Galaxy.

Well they said that Acid and LSD and things like that engage parts of your brain you don't normally use... I read somewhere that psychiatric patients have been treated with LSD in the past, and now they want to use MDMA to treat patients with psychological trauma or PTSD... Come on lets get high...

ya know, i read all them mind blowing questions, and you know what i realised, stars need better names....

R136a1 is a sh!t name for a monster star, why not call it godzilla star or jeff, jeffss a good name for a star, at least its more memorable than R136a1, i know theres millions of strars out there so the boring ones could all be called BOB and that leaves the good names for the cool stars.

does anyone here belive psycadellics could be a way of explaining stuff around us? it was a popular bill hicks theory that we can only evolve when we take mushrooms? ive taken mushys and ive certainly felt something which i cant explain, but i dont know if i was trippin or evolving? lol.

Yeah but how come we can start thinking about these things in the first place?!

Maybe in the future people will be able to use more of their brains and answer more of these mind blowing questions.
