Man I know all about wilders... what a massive pr!ck that guy is. It's all this fortress europe bullsh!t, it makes me sad... The dutch have fallen a long way politically it seems. But these things happen in cycles. And the reality of it is, if the dutch get rid of all the immigration then the country will come grinding to a halt. Every country needs immigrants to fill the gaps in the job market. I don't think that many dutch people would do a lot of demeaning jobs that are done by migrant workers, it's the same here in the uk.

Real pity about the cafes too. I've had my fair share of trips to the dam, so i'm not overly upset. They doing away with the windows too?

Actually, the most embarrassing one for me was a year into my relationship when my girl moaned another guy's name in her sleep one morning. I hella woke her up... "Who's Eric?!?!" She got all bashful and said it was her Chemistry TA or something that she thought was cute... I told her, I'd let it go... "for now"... I wanted to say something all chauvinistic like "You're only supposed to find ME cute now, beeyotch!", but I played it cool... she treated me extra nice for the rest of the week, and she stopped going to office hours, haha.

I just hope that this is the last battle cry of a dying generation of paranoid white conservatives. I don't think many of the common folk in the centrist and progressive arenas really thought that they would put up such a crazy fight, and the fact that they are swaying such a significant number of people in any country is pretty impressive. Sad, but impressive.

I thought less people were sheep nowadays. I knows this ventures into leftist propaganda a bit, but I also wonder why conservatives (in the US, at least, and definitely in California) like to pull money from education and give it to prisons and wars, and progressives want to make more scholarships and pay teachers more. Do they want us to all be idiots and sheep?

The dutch aren't all that nice anymore.
You'd be surprised where this country is headed.
In less than 40 years, we went from a hippie, socialist, left-ish environment, to a (which comes as no surprise, in these times) quite racist, scared of foreigners type country.
We have a guy called Geert Wilders (might heard of him, he's all over the world promoting his film) and his policy is solely based on getting rid of foreigners, and throwing out the people ''who don't belong here'', he even has the intention to raise taxes on headscarves and other just really foolish ideas
The scary thing about this is he is gaining more & more support every day, currently he is even the biggest, or second biggest political party in our country.
This kind of change in less than 40 years, it's just scary and very disturbing indeed.
I try to talk about it with people, but nobody listens these days, they either don't give a f*ck, or are scared of an opinion and getting more & more brainwashed, turning into little Americans (the majority, I love all you American motherf*ckers on here)
People just don't think for themselves anymore, which is just a very sad, sad thing.
Our drug-friendly policy is on very thin ice too, the government is closing down more and more coffeeshops and a lot of parties want to make the weed completely illegal and I repeat: in less than 40 years, it is a scary change.

I'm not really genetically scottish though, i'm half english half sri-lankan, so the sri-lankan side of the family is where me and my bro get the "nut-job" genes from. Being brought up in scotland possibly hasn't helped our innate mental stability though ha ha...

I wish i was dutch. It would give me a legitimate excuse to be even more chilled out than i already am. Although that would probably mean I was comatose...
