Just heard the whole thing. It was super sweet. Good looking out Alfisto.

I was a bit surprised when Thes mentioned at the end of his interview that he considers Ab-Soul to be better than Biggie or KRS-One in his book. I can kinda see why he would consider Biggie to be ehh as he was knocking down earlier on Bad Boy. The Bad Boy era is always an interesting debate. Some regard Puff as a genius in emerging R&B & Hip-Hop together as a new subgenre within Hip-Hop, and then folks like Thes make valid points of how it just watered it down. But KRS-One, man, that's a little tougher to hear. I think it's because they're both legendary emcees each with their own blueprint in Hip-Hop storytelling, and don't think it should draw a comparison. On the flip side, Ab-Soul is absolutely incredible. I really dig his work. Sometimes I find him more appealing than Kendrick, haha. He's definitely better than Schoolboy Q in my book!

Thanks for posting the link up Alfisto! What a great pool of knowledge for anyone interested in sampling to pull from. It's so cool to hear Thes describe his approach and thoughts on sampling, both as a producer and as a fan of hip hop... I definitely learned a lot of new information that I didn't know, whether it be about the P or about sampling technique/theory/ethics.

So much great sh!t being posted old cats, new hip-hip coming up from new heads, awesome radio shows, etc. Just a little mini rant but if anyone is complaining about the state of modern hip-hop and music in general, just dig a little harder. I wish I got to experience crate digging, but there is so so sooo much still to dig out there. Rant over. Enjoy.
