Hey guys, so I've made about an albums worth of beats of ACID music studio; but I wanna move up to the real beat making with an MPC n' such.

So I know I'm gonna need a good amount of cash to get things started; but past that I really don't know much about this. I'm basically wondering if someone could give me a good low-down (or perhaps a link to a website with one?) on how to start out, what to get, and how to actually sample something/use an MPC once I've got the stuff. I'm a total beginner, and have no idea when it comes to this stuff, but I'm really interested in starting.

Oh, and my dad's got a pretty good record collection in the basement (although no working turntable) that I could start with.
