Well, you're not the only one who didn't get it.

When Thes first started shopping around for companies to produce the merch at least one (well-known) manufacurer of hats turned him down saying they wouldn't produce anything depicting a "gang sign"... :-|

(If I recall correctly Thes told this story and also explained the origin of the Piecelock name on Peter Agoston's 'The House List' Podcast. Can't remember which one of the 2 episodes it was however, so you'll have to seek it (links) out yourself this time.)

So I've always assumed it was depicting a hand that's about to scratch on turntables, but I've never seen an explanation to verify, anyone know for sure?
