That description of the Jake LP ticks just about every box to get serious digger types salivating.
It's the exact type of obscure, privately pressed record there wouldn't be too many copies of floating around, but word gets around remarkably fast when something is good.

Loving the stories/knowledge being dropped as part of Thes sales. I can't help but wonder how many of the bidders (and some seem to try on each and every item posted) really know about those records or how many cats mainly want a record from Thes collection with the certificate (and him having signed off on the record being dope)? In that price range/weight class of buying records you'd better know what you're doing...

Please stop using individual discogs/ebay asking prices as measuring sticks for supposed "value" though! Especially unless someone has actually bought/sold records at said price. (And even then it can be a fluke.)
Too many people put up stuff at ludicrous prices nowadays, hoping someone with more money than sense will throw fistfuls of ca$hola at them. (And sadly there are plenty of people in the world who fit that description... )
My point is: a lot of these prices/values are conjured out of thin air rather than based on reality/rarity/actual supply & demand. Case in point: that guy trying to sell his Carried Away Instrumentals for >1100$ on here recently...

That being said: I'm certain Thes' prices are fair/reasonable. He's got deep knowledge AND done additional research.
But you'd better make sure you (all) do, too...

I also think there is one for a similar price on Discogs and one going for around $700 on eBay. That’s got to have something to do with the price.

I checked out why that Jake album is just shy of $1000. Apparently there are only ~500 known presses of the album. It is described is folk/psych rock. Here is a brief description. Wonder if any tracks off this album exist on a PUTS track.

For those who've not peeped it yet, Thes is going to be selling off records from his personal collection over the next few weeks.

First one up was the "musical dope" intro sample from OST (and cover use don Mustache Soul) for $120...
