Manchester City have successfully appealed against the red card received by Pablo Zabaleta in the 0-0 draw with Arsenal on Wednesday.

The FA's Regulatory Commission upheld City's claims of wrongful dismissal on Friday morning, meaning that the Argentinian's three match suspension has been overturned.

Zabaleta was sent off along with Arsenal's Bacary Sagna when the two defenders tussled near the end of Wednesday night's game.

Sagna appeared to be the aggressor in the situation and it appeared that Zabaleta was unfortunate to be given his marching orders.

After looking at the footage, the FA have decided to overturn the decision and the Argentinian is now available for City's FA Cup third round match against Leicester on Sunday afternoon

The magic of the FA Cup takes over this weekend with 2 rather nice games on "normal" TV.
Starting with Arsenal vs Leeds on Saturday and Man Utd vs Liverpool on Sunday.

Eso will this be your first taste of FA Cup action?

I'm not sure... I think he must be sick of getting stamped and kicked.
I think a City player maybe Barry caught him earlier on.
Usually Sagna is so controlled and professional it was a shock.
It was quite a physical game so he must have been wound up and knocked.

Before the red card I would have choosen Zabby as City Man of the Match.
When they went to ground Sagna instantly seemed very angry about something maybe their legs tangled and he got caught somewhere painful...

Yeah we're both still firmly in the race.

To be honest as long as we finish in the top 4 and qualify for the Champions League I'll be happy.

I didn't get to watch it as I was at work, but I had the stream playing in the background so I could hear the commentary. What set Sagna off? Could it have been leftover feeling from the Lee Boyer stamp? Did Zabby do something similar and "attack" him so to say?

I can understand the defensive approach since Silva and Balotelli weren't in the squad and Tevez was the only option up front.

I'm not too disappointed at the result since Arsenal did have their chances and Hart's fingertip save was excellent. Despite the score, a very exciting clash between two top of the table teams.

I'm happy with the point.

We may not have played with attacking flair or great confidence but we kept a clean sheet and got something out of the game which isn't easy to do at the Emirates.
And that keeps us 2nd in the League and...

Joe Hart made some excellent saves to deny Arsenal a goal.
The save against Van Persie being the best.
We had a shakey start and it was a hard game to watch with Arsenal hitting the woodwork at least 3 times.

Arsenal were very good and I winced everytime Nasri had the ball in the final 3rd or they sent a ball thru to Walcott who Zabaleta dealt with very well and was unlucky to get a straight red card in the incident with Sagna.
Zabby made some great last ditch tackles in the box to stop Walcott.

I thought it was very uncharacteristic of Sagna to behave like that and I felt he was more in the wrong than Zabaleta.

It was a great game for the neutral despite no goals and I'm happy to get it out of the way.

The league has never been so exciting.

You can say what you like about "boring boring City" but if you cant score against us then that is a tribute to how well we defended (and how lucky we were).
We're still a developing team and results like this help us to build.

I watched the game at a local pub and then watched Match of the Day later and if Arsenal were playing anyone else that night they would have thrased them!

All in all I'm happy.
