I have heard of Madlib, I have never heard Lootpack (though I have heard of them), and being bilingual doesn't mean I'm mexican- sh!t, the gringos can bring those skills just the same as any American, Norte, Sur, o Central.

Anyways, Madlib has his reasons for staying away from the plastic, and this argument could last as long as a Revelations Sermon in August, but to completly ignore any facet of musical medium, whether CD, vinyl, or even Playstation games, it's just silly now in the 'NEW MILLENIUM', and in the end, all it comes down to is how you use it.

I was born the same year as the Compact Disc, so the collection is deep, but my favorite gems are as follows:

-Deep Concentration 3 (1st time I heard PUTS was Afternoon Connection, and is arguably my favorite track from the homies)

-OST Party Sampler (still the best promo ever made)

-Mystikal - Mind of Mystikal (1st time 'Kal appears on Jive [returns for
Shake It Fast], this album is the smoothest his voice has ever been, though if anybody carried No Limit through the late '90s, it was Mystikal).

-Ray Barretto - La Cuna (Don't sleep; Barretto, Puente, Palmieri...don't sleep)

-Outkast - Aquemini (I own two copies, the celebration album, My Spottie Ottie Dopaliscious Angel)

-Marcos Valle - Samba '68 (Mellow Grooves that soothe)

-Beastie Boys - In Sound From the Way Out (Random Beastie grooves spanning Check your Head to Ill Communication, French Release, still don't understand the liner notes)

-Television's Greatest Hits (A must for tying up loose ends on pause tapes or just blazin to that Sanford & Son theme)

Believe it or not, my CD collection is just as strong. I was buying those way before I got into vinyl. I've sold off a couple hundred and I still currently own a couple hundred. If I had to list some rares...

Jay-Z - Reasonable Doubt (original release)
Main Source - Breaking Atoms
Common Sense - Can I Borrow A Dollar?
Buck 65 - Vertex (original release)
Redman - Whut? Thee Album
Atmosphere - Overcast! (original release)

plus a bunch of other stuff that I don't feel like scrambling my psyche to type. It's interesting to think that certain albums are hard to come by. Most of these up above I've seen go for loot on gemm.com or ebay.com. When I mean loot, I'm talking like $50+. That's a lot for a CD that's not an import and was somewhat popular when it came out, outside of that Common Sense record.
