Yeah, I'm guilty of not doing it the right way anymore. An instant (legal and paid-for) download to my iPod is usually what goes down, but I miss those days when I used to take an album (ESPECIALLY an LP) home and sit on the floor/bed, put it on and just trip on it. I need to get back to that.

All this hurrying around seems worth it, but when I look back, I see all the sh*t I missed. I feel the same way for books; they mean so much more when you turn them out in one go. Dante Aligheri's Divine Comedy was an EPIC read in one sitting.

I need to get myself straight and learn to enjoy the unabridged, real sh*t in life by the time I have kids or I'll be doing those little Sactowns a big disservice.

I remember doing that with tapes back in the early 90's. I miss that experience. Unwrap the cellophane, pop the tape in the deck then read the liner notes while the songs played. I couldn't do anything that day until I finished the album, front to back. I still did that with CD's in college. Would get like 4-5 CD's at a time and that night was spent digesting every one of them.

word! Totally agree. Whenever I get a new album just got to sit down, put it on the stereo and appreciate that first listen.
