Got an OG now. Run out & label rings correct!

No idea behind why it was booted (I know I bought my bootleg copy a week or so after I heard that Thes had remixed it), but the completist nerd in me needed the OG!

This record was always notorious for being bootlegged, which is weird because I don't think it ever that high-profile (it was released on the low as 'BootLeg Recordings' to start with!!)

I have a copy that I assumed was legit as it includes the skits however just pulled it out and it sounds like your copy Fecam - only one ring on the label and the 'AE 49497/A' runouts. Damn!

I always heard the bootleg was missing the skits but I guess maybe there's TWO bootlegs?

Yo man... just pulled it outta the collection and ya you're right.. I have the exact numbers you got on your runout... it still doesn't make sense to me why there would be a bootleg considering the rarity of the original record, however.. if only a few hundred copies were initially pressed who would bother bootlegging the record ya know? I'm curious about this now man.. thanks for bringing it up!!!
And I consider Thes' "Back on da block" to be one of his best beats ever... FIREE!!!!

Cheers Denny - I have the copy here, but the runout grooves are all wrong - they say:

A Side - AE 49497/A
B Side - AE 49498/A

If you could confirm what yours has that'd be great!

Waddup homey... Ya I copped that 12 from a record store in Vancouver probably 4 years ago... Mine does have the skits included on it.. including a teenage Double K rapping with a homey over a cassette quality tape haha! Definetely take that copy with the skits though man... I am 99.9 percent sure the album is probably OG as Thes definetely did not do his Pete Rock and CL remix officially.. they just put this sh!t out without clearing anything.. my guess is only around 500 official copies would be floating around. Again I wouldn't worry about the label looking copied.. I mean it was put out on "BootLeg Recordings" from West LA.. wherever that is... not much time went into the record stickers obviously so sh!t looks kinda shady! I hope this helps and hit me up if you got more questions boss..

I know that this was bootlegged around the time that the ltd OG pressing was put out. Being in the UK, I ended up with a bootleg which was pretty decent quality.

The text on the run out is one sure fire way to tell the OG from a boot but, according to discogs, the OG had a skit at the end of each side whilst the boot didn't.

I've just been offered a copy which has the skits at the end of each side, but the label looks copied & the run out text is all wrong.

Can anyone confirm the number of different pressings, as I only want the OG..

Thanks in advance.
