If PUTS made every album sound like Next Step, I doubt that they'd have a very large fan base (not to diss on it, I luh that sh*t). And if they'd gone the way of DJ Shad and whipped out a hyphy album, I doubt that some of the people here would appreciate it (again, I'd have to see... I might've dug it... not crazy about Shadow's album though).

So what are two brothers to do? Simple. Ignore any sets of expectations that people aim at them, and take their music in a direction that they feel comfortable with... It's the only thing good artists can do. There's a lot of sh*t about "keeping it real", but the only really real "real" that means anything worthwhile is a) defining yourself, b) expressing yourself, c) making changes in your self-definition while keeping the core constant, and d) updating your expression as necessary.

I dont get it either? Prehaps its an elitist thing? fans are only fans as long as the artist is "underground" then when big things happen they move on... i kn ow a few fake super fans like that!

Another point to make, and i believe Thes himself made this poiunt, is that you cant stick to the same formula constantly, u gotta change otherwise you become a prisoner of your own sound, thats part of the reason i love the P sooooo much, you got Thes album lifestyle marketing which is sooooo different and ballsy, Carried Away which isnt the crossover album i was hoping for, Fun DMC which is is based around the concept of a summer day....

I could go on with the kissing ass and sucking up, but ill stop there, anyone who says PUTS suck need to seriously look at what their beliefs of that are grounded in, coz PUTS is the definition of QUALITY!
