Can't stand Wayne, and Drake is meh. Success and fame in the music industry has to do with marketing, knowing the right people, and being backed by a label that can finance the hell out of your career, Wayne qualifies on all three fronts. To be fair though, Lil Wayne has put in quite a bit of work over the span of his career.

I must say though, even though I too don't care much for what mainstream music is getting put out now a days, I'm enjoying the hell out of Watch The Throne.

I hear you man, I used to work in radio as a production assistant and decided really early that this was an industry I wanted NO part in
Don't find much satisfaction producing audio to sell sh!t and promote music that I have pure hatred for. They didn't pay me nearly enough to want to do that!

thats what I feel about it. The radio only plays certains songs and tells the public that those songs are the best out right now. Sadly, most people follow, so they give in and believe. I wish there would be a FM radio station that would play good music. Im not saying to just play hip hop all day long, but play artists of all genres who have talent and dont get any love from the media

The only reason I can think of (and this is not just rap but in all things) is the vast majority of the public are idiots with zero taste, and will quite frankly eat anything up that's packaged and presented as "good"

So I watched the VMAs last night.
I know most will agree that main stream rap is on a horrible downturn. I just really want to know what is this hype
behind lil wayne? him and his crew are talked about like they are some type of Gods in the rap buisness, I just dont
get it. Ive seen drake twice (at my school and then at a party on New Years) and it was the worst performances
I have seen in a long time.

Please explain this to me.
