This was a cool interview. It's interesting to hear the politics surrounding some of the earlier releases as I was never aware of any of that stuff over in England. All we heard was the music. It's dope for me because I was kind of the same age as the P, and listening to their records as they came out I feel like I've kinda grew up with them in a way. When Thes is talking about San Francisco nights being them at age 16 taking their first road trip, and the year it dropped I was around the same age and that song really spoke to me at the time, they just seemed to take the way I was feeling then and put it on wax. Memories like that are why I'll keep coming back to PUTS music forever.

So, I hadn't heard the INI track (What You Say) with the same Lay Lady Lay sample from Acid Raindrops, but when I heard Thes mention it on the interview, I peeped it on YouTube.

Honestly, they are both killer tracks, and I don't think I could ever choose between 'em on the beat side. They both bring their own vibe to the table, and they create completely different moods for me, but I like both of those moods about the same.

On the raps side, I don't smoke weed (much respect to PUTS, but I'm trying to get a job that would make blazing difficult) and I'm not into spiritual raps as much (much respect to INI, I've just got my own beliefs), so it's hard to identify with either song, BUT I think I like Acid Raindrops better... there's just something about Thes and Double's flows... and I don't speak French, so I can't understand that one dude

It was cool to hear about Thes talking about OST. It's still one of my favorite albums. It stayed in my CD player on constant rotation until Highlighter recently replaced it (although the MP3 and radio would break up plays).

Thes feeling like they were on the up and up and having loads of people praising their latest (OST) as the best, when you feel you've got so much more to offer, would definitely be frustrating. I've loved all the releases since OST as well. I must be a fanboy. Or the "P" just consistently know how to lay it down.

I remember when I first heard Step In (step father) and Swan Fever (Fun DMC) I was blown away. They always seem to know how to make an album jamming right from the start.

For Fun DMC I even got hooked up with a PUTS FUN DMC beer coozie at the local record shop. Still rock when disc golfing and other occasions. but it's looking a bit warn as it's been getting lots of use. (right now it's wrapped around a Uinta Hop Notch IPA, Utah's beer game has stepped up)

Nice one B, great stuff again. Backs up why I've also got that Piecelock T in my shipment...got to spread the word in the UK.
