I may get slammed for liking them but skip it. I dig them Manor cats. I only heard of them because of Danny Graft's "Arsenal Anthem" and after checking out some of their stuff, they're pretty dope. That guy Scotty Stacks can piece some words together nicely.

Before them, I really only knew about Roots Manuva and his "Run Come Save Me" album, the song "Witness" drew me to him. Then of course Dizzee Rascal and "Fix Up, Look Sharp" song.

Yeah...the new Jehst album is good...managed to secure myself the limited edition coloured vinyl...only 500 made...although he's hardly mainstream so it still might be available.

There is a load of sh!t flying around these days...as already mentioned Chipmonk and Tiny Temper are some of that sh!t.

With two young kids I've lost touch a bit these days, so couldn't really give you an up to date lowdown. However, the cream of the crop from days gone by were Skitz, Rodney P, Jehst, Braintax, Skinnyman, Tommy Evans, Kashmere, Verb T, Chester P, Young Gun & Cappo...not forgetting Scorzayzee (Scor-zay-zee)!

They produced some classic LP's between them, and they still sound good...but they are a lot more brutal than the sweet west coast beats of the P...and I can understand why if you like the P, you're not down with um.

The P will always bring sunshine...no matter how sh!t the weather...ya get me!

Being from the UK i do have to say that i find it very hard to find UK Hip Hop i like and i am not really sure why. I have tried different groups etc (most mentioned above) and they never really do it for me. I do like Lewis Parker and i am into old London Posse stuff but i just can't seem to get into it on a regular basis. I would really like to and jsut not sure what is stopping me. I have to say i generally like UK hip Hop DJ's more than groups themselves (DJ Yoda, Greenpeace etc).

There has been some horrible UK Grime/Hip Hop being released in the charts lately (I am looking at you Chipmunk, Tinny Temper etc) and i am not feeling that one bit!!!!

Maybe i just need to expose myself to more of the artist you have mentioned......

While we're waiting for Highlighter to drop, I've been passing time listening to a bit of good old UK sh!t today.

Jehst...'Falling Down'...classic stuff, even if a bit darker than those sweet West Coast beats from the P.

As I write I've got Skitz, Rodney P, Skinnyman, Wildflower, Riddla & Primecuts...'Twilight of the Gods' spinning round...UK doesn't get much better than that...
