The artistic will have been left behind for the monetary. And once all the "legends" are done, we will see people like amy winehouse being created. It will become just another way of record labels to continue profiteering long after an artists death (or leaves a record label) OM records could well have PUTS holograms in no time... lol.

when X Japan reunited 10 years after their guitarist died they had a hologram of him at the Tokyo Dome (they also had a transparent levitating crystal piano!) - see about 3 minutes in, though watch from the start for the build up!

Although it looks like for the Tupac one they made a CGI version of him they then created into a hologram, which is a bit dubious, rather than use real footage of him from the past (like the Hide tribute).
