I'm not a conspiracy theorist by any means, but I think that the media are master manipulators when they do the selling. I guess now would be a good time to rework the Gaga comment I made earlier: if the masses are so open to being deceived, and they are going to NOT think for themselves, then a manipulator of the masses (like Gaga or will) is doing a better thing by putting out a positive message about acceptance, rather than telling an adolescent to be a narcissistic club skank... but it's still scraping the bottom of the barrel. It's like a rose petal on a pile of dog sh*t... and it does about as much good when it hits the ears of the masses. Especially with the short attention spans. Regardless, the music still sounds like absolute sh*t to me, and they are all attention whores to the core. And the media's egging this on to the point where I'm afraid for the state of art in this world... when was the last time that we had a CLASSIC piece of literature come out... it's all Harry Potter and Hunger Games now. Meanwhile, music is dying at the hands of the mass media. Personally, I think there are still "classic" movies being made, but there are so few that I'm even thinking that they'll be gone in another ten years, and it'll be all rom-coms and action flicks. As far as Michael goes... I agree about the classics, although I think I hold "Dangerous" in a little more esteem though... but more because those music videos for "Black or White" and "Remember the Time" are just too crazy.
