Only track I didn't like first time listening to Highlighter, but with each subsequent listen I liked it more and more, while other tracks that I loved on first listen (We Got It, Electric Tookie) began to sour. Considering they are 8 albums deep, the fact I only axed 3 songs says something of the overall quality of the P's catalog.

I'm having trouble coming up with any songs I could totally live without, really just some that I like less than others (like Creepshow or Fly Love Song). I warmed up to the P slowly though, liking a few songs at first and really growing to love how they do their production and how their different rapping styles complement each other. The same spirit runs throughout their work at large which is really an accomplishment in and of itself..........g

Sorry to re-issue the shock, but "Play It Again", "The Breakdown", "Outrun", "On & On", "The Mike & Chris Story", "Carried Away", and "Ambien Hallway Music" are all stellar tracks. I LOVE skit intros on albums, but I prefer closing an album out strong like the other PUTS albums, instead of a skit and a hidden shout-out track.

I agree with you that it's a dope, mellow beat (I could listen to it for hours), though. If Thes gets around to releasing his limited edition 4-LP instro set that he was talking about, I'd love to see that on there. Sh*t's layered just right.

To continue on thread, though: I have to admit that "D'Nunzio" is not my favorite Thes solo track... I'm down with Z-Trip and all, but after the other two tracks on Noonen...

Honestly, the new album I hate to say it had more misses than anything I've ever heard PUTS make, but as always I respect them for trying to be so experimental.

I think overall The Brownout is my least favorite PUTS joint, beat is oddly repetitive and boring for how good the group is, not a huge fan of the first Letter To The Old School on that album either, love the subject matter but the beat is a bit meh.
