yeah legalization and even decriminalization are pretty unlikely for denver, just like every american city (silly feds). what i can imagine coming out of this realistically is a law similar to seattle's initiative 75 which makes marijuana offenses the lowest priority for enforcement. so far i-75 has been really effective in cutting costs and freeing up resources, not to mention arrest rates have plummeted, good news for everyone. in the end it's still a good cop/bad cop issue, some will choose to look the other way, some won't. but overall it's a big first step; it shows that the public's perspective on the drug is shifting.

dont forget that no matter for far legalization goes for any state, the govt can step in at any time and confiscate grow centers etc. the passed laws do no apply to 'them'

The law was passed in the city of Denver, but there are still Colorado state laws against possession. From what I understand those might be on the ballot next year. We'll see. But, it's a step in the right direction.

No doubt that them Colorado boys did something good in memory of HST in my opinion (he'd be a little proud, before blasting us for not legalizing acid too). In Georgia, we had the best laws for it (misdemeanor for less than an Oskie), but looks like them GA. Boys gotta catch up now.

Columbia, Missouri has the same laws. Little over an hour south of me. Cool college town....head shops + lots of concerts + parties. Good news for Denver.
