Maan you need to play with your system a bit more - there must be a master volume on your mixer - turn that up but be careful not to overdrive your hifi (if thats what your using and it sounds like you are). If that doesnt work turn up the gain or "trim" on your mixer and again be careful you dont wanna blow your hi fi. And a pop noise is normal when you turn your mixer off it should be more of a click ... and think about it ... when you turn your mixer off there is no electricity in it .... how do you expect the lights on it to "light up and dance". The usual problem of wires crossing is getting static shock when u touch ure mixer OR a hum you can hear via your speakers - this can easily be resolved by providiing a solid grounding pathwath, making sure your phono and ure ground are sperated or by using better quality PHONO cables.

i'm pretty sure you can buy channel switch replacements for most mixers...
but i just drank 5 euro pints of oktoberfest and i amy not know what you or i are talkinf about

It's all about reversing your fader so you can scratch and bank off the the edge. So far thats the only way i can crab/twiddle worth a damn

I used to practice allot, while the fader was still opperatoinal, im still novice when it comes to scratching but i still like to messa round. dont really have funds for new eqip., so i just gotta micky mouse it you know.

I couldn't understand the fader for a while so I was using the channel select for months, but you can bust so much more tricks with the fader.

Not many people use the channel select anymore with cross faders becoming more precise - the channel select it not as fast as a fader for example - try busting some 3 click flares on a mixer select. Youll start f***ing your mixer

what mixer are you using.

Its a great way to bust out a quick scratch when you have your fader set to a smooth curve for those pimp mixes

well, my decks are pretty basic, made a thread a while back about the crossfader, and how one side was glitching in sound instad of cutting sound out completley, so to fix that i turned the fader around, switched some rca's and it was back to normal reverse-way, now both sides are glitching sounds eithe way i turn em ,,, for a while now, and really has made me not want to use my machine latley, but i always have the channel switch...

It works, but with not much fingering skill required, anyone ever scratch using the channel switch ??
