Having an mpc without a turntable must suck. Don't be a toy. Know the music first and then go from there.

Logic works great for me, and it's a helluva lot cheaper than buying an MPC. Having said that, I'd give one of my nuts for an MPC. I'm always on the lookout so if anyone sees something going fairly cheap, holla at me.

I totally cheat, since I can't afford an MPC. I import samples from vinyl or cd into logic and use that to loop and sh!t. It's cheating I know, but i don't have the money to buy and MPC or the time to teach myself how to use one properly.

I got a Stanton T.60, good table and pretty afordable. Would love to have a Tech. I listen to the records i buy from thrift stores, yard sales, swap meets, ect..., and then buy the MPC, don't know which one yet. Finding loops inspire me to make beats on my desk which will later translate to real beats on the MP. Weird, but it will do the trick for me.

alright cool

so whats the big difference btw the mpc1000 and other models such as the 3000 or 60. i was reading an article that said the 1000 is good for "punchy" beats which isn't really what i'm looking for. just samples and laid back beats. what are the limitations with the 1000. where does all your money buy you?

I'd agree with stoic - cheap ass turn to sample from and mpc
that should keep you occupied

I got no clue on CD turntables

I think MPC3000 and the MPC60 are the best ones. You'll need to have some decks to make the MPC useful in the first place...

I don't like CD decks, it's like faking scratching, hmm

if your going to shell out that much on an MPC1000 you'd be better of getting a secondhand high spec MPC2000 / XL or MPC 60 Mark II you can find bargains on those models if you look hard enough, or even the new MPC2500 from what i've heard it's pretty good, i'd always go with an MPC wish i could afford an MPC3000 .As for the decks if just wanna sample you could just get one deck, but i guessing you want to scratch and beat juggle??!! All this talk of MPCs is making me miss My MPC 60 II i sold a while back..

already have the tables, ill go with the mpc,, this doesnt help any

uhh, well, i dont know jack about using hardware, so if you can use the mpc with programmed drums ide go with that, and you need the turntable to get a sample from wax to machine right, so just buy a cheap cheap cheap ass turntable for sampling records and listening, im talking cheap like 40 bucks, even cheaper....
