This is some funny sh!t

My friend dave turned me onto John Cage. Some of the craziest sh!t I've ever listened to. I have a cd of him doing a concert with microphones set up in the street and random places around the hall where he was playin'. Using some sort of mixer (I would asume) he brings in all sorts of noises that the microphones are pickin' up at that time. Crazy soundin' ish.

Yoko One 'cut' piece

this is so crazy, i don't even think you could do it today. Yoko Ono just sat their and invited everyone to cut bits of her clothes off until she was naked. She's just chilling in some kind of phased out mind state. Everyone else is scared about cutting off her clothes. No one wants to be the one to cut off the last bit. There's some crazy tension that builds up. Then some guy tried to cut off her vest and bra and gets accused of being 'greedy'.

haven't watched it yet but cage was a crazy dude - recording sh!t like the sounds in a kitchen, and the sound of human digestion,

on the experimental tip you know that song "brakhage" by stereolab on Mithai, that was dedicated to Stan Brakhage who made some awesome experimental films (I think the south park boys studied under him) - trust me you gotta check him out, 'cat's cradle' is a mind f***

the fluxus movement had some interesting ideas but actually having John Cage's 4mins33 of silence televised is one of the most next level things ive ever seen. it's funny because its dedicated to him and it's like the silence at a funeral.
