hey,
if u want a cheap reliable deck i would recommend the stanton STR8-150's.
If use them and would def recommend them to anyone. I have a set and havent had any troubles, and i thrash the sh!t out of mine constantly everyday. I'm not sure how accessible they are over in the states, but over here they are dirt cheap compared to technics. Now in Australia, can get them for about $650 each.
Technics are so much more expensive, and have none of the features on them that i love. When i jump on a set of technics, they move so slow that it sort of feels broken, or slowed down.
the torque on the 150's are amazing, can change the pitch speed heaps, 3 different settings, adjust the start / slow down speed, have reverse and they are heavy and durable as f***..
when u use them they feel so responsive, and accurate.
have a beat juggle on them and you wont ever want to use a different turntable.

save your money, and get some second hand Mk2s its really worth the money, just got mine some weeks ago and its just banging. oke now i'm pretty much broke but sometimes you just have to spend sth to get real quality

yeah i think so, i'm sure the cover is slightly different from the Original on these ones i'm finding on ebay at the moment...might be wrong i bought a replacemnet recently i'm sure it must be a repress.

yes technics 1200/1210s all the way, thats what i plan to get when i get my first pay from my new job...cheaper alternatives when you use them just act well....cheap ! (poor torc / tork not sure if thats how you spell it! :-)) ect )

A Tech 1200 from Ebay?

I'd go with used from ebay from a reputable seller.

Cause cheap new decks are, well, cheap.

My deck broke

I need to find a replacement quick! I miss my P vinyl, it doesn't sound the same on cd/mp3. also, i just got Quid Control.

Back to the point, i know nothing about this stuff so can someone point me to a cheap deck?

the other stuff i have (if it matters) is a technics su ma10 big silver thing(amp?) hooked up to a pair of hench floor standing B&W matrix 3 series 2 speakers.
