The resale/sharing/downloading tracks thing is such a tangled web, I always hate to get in it with people. To me it boils down to the sharer's/sharee's intent and proper respect on both sides for the artist. Two dudes sharing beat tapes or an album just to increase interest or to try to turn their friends on to new tunes... Not a problem. Playing it for a homie is cool. Even a little bit of resale is cool (gives the sleepers that second chance to own). Really, anything that increases appreciation for the artist and is confined to fans who will offer artist support is okay by me.
I just can't handle people who mass-share artist discogs to casual fans who would never show their support or respect to an artist or hyping some resale of a rarity to get rich quick.
I probably won't be selling my PUTS merch while I'm alive... I can't say the same for my family after I'm gone. If I think I'm going terminal, I'll give you guys a heads up, so you can get to Sactown for the estate sale, haha. And I may share a track or two with friends who have consistently repped the P and understand the meaning of "for evaluation purposes only". But I never just fork out things I took a long time to obtain to people I don't know. Weak.
