I've got a love-hate relationship with these, but:

Concert give-aways are sometimes a good way to reach the real fans... Of course, I hate it when they do concert give-aways when they're not playing near me.

Aw, man... Look at this!

$300-$400

I... I... I'm going to be kicking myself for the rest of the damn year for missing out on this! I def can't afford to fork over almost half a grand for this (believe me, if I had the money I'd snatch it up in a heartbeat). Aaaaaaaaaghhhhh.

The things I would do for that set man, you don't even know.

Shhhhhit when you say near half a grand damn!! This shows that you get these sharks no matter what! They can't be enjoying life.

I will rock my 'crab dance' (side shuffle on those 3 drums) to 'wannabes' inst on Friday night for all you cats that missed out, so you know that 97% on the boxsets went to good homes.

I won an auction on ebay last week for the box set at $285.00!! I'm so happy. Props to the seller lol because I know it'll be in great hands when I receive it.. PUTS4LIFE

I feel for you sir, I was one of the lucky ones to get a set & a mug as well. Sadly the real fans that missed out are the ones who will have to pay these high prices. Hopefully Thes has something else up his sleeve for those who missed out.

I'm a happy camper now.. Received my box set from the guy I bought it from on ebay!!!! Brand freakin new status..

Question about the MP3 player... Can't figure out how to turn mine on, does it need to be charged or something?

There should be some directions under the foam holding the player in the tin. You are correct in your assumption, you have to charge it first via plugging it into a USB. Congrats on the set, too bad you had to pay top dollar for it but at least it's in good hands now...

It still kinda blows my mind that I was able to get my hands on this. I was on a naval deployment, but five members of my department - self included - got to go off the ship and rotate through a land based detachment for a couple weeks. I originally was scheduled to go there in like june/july. For some reason I got switched to mid-late august. There I had consistent usable internet so I checked out this site on a whim and it happened to be the day before the vinyl went on sale. Then I was able to put my F5 skills to work so I could nab an order when it released. If things hadn't worked out perfect on the timing I would have missed this completely.

Listening to it now for the first time in time - can't believe how long ago it was released

It's some classic sh!t.

I'd love to take it down to the Jazz Cafe & get it signed by the legend himself. Thing is, it's too precious to move...

However, it would be great to get him to sign the box itself...we'll see.

Bring on the '10 more years/20 years of Thes One' box set...

And while it probably would be cool to roll up to Thes with the wooden box I'd be kinda cautious about

a) having the box itself signed (outer lid vs. inner lid?; what kind of pen to use on wood? black marker just feels wrong somehow and would stand out like crazy compared to the laser carving..?)

and

b) potential damages en route to/at the show; requiring an all-out security detail to get it back home again safely. How many fellow P fans who missed out would kill to get their hands on a copy..?
