Looks like the LP is sold out on the PL70 site. I wonder if we'll get a lil somethin somethin extra like those panini stickers from the Highlighter release. I thought those stickers were dope.

BEP's first two albums were decent enough after all, and even though they were always on the pop side of things, 'Weekends', 'B.E.P. Empire' (produced by none other than Premier after all and with the funny home order vid to boot) and 'Request Line' were more enjoyable than a lot of other schlock getting heavy rotation at the time. There's no point in sugarcoating the fact the guy behaved like a tool at the Rootdown Soundclash, both him and his group are textbook sellouts and making awful music (+ movies) these days, but I simply don't have the time to waste on clowns like them. Next!
I doubt even Thes holds as much of a grudge as some of y'all seem to...
Come to think of it I own will's installment in BBE's Beat Generation series... (He did #3 after Jay Dee's 'Welcome 2 Detroit' and Pete Rock's 'PeteStrumentals'.)

Don't wanna derail the thread, so I'll be quick: I agree with everything you're saying. Bashing or hating in general isn't really the way I do things normally. Just thought it would've been funny to have them saying all that stuff to someone's face. I could've just said "rapping in some radio rapper's face"... BUT I thought it made a better mental image if I picked someone specific. Honestly, I almost said Drake but changed it up at the last minute because of Rootdown... and because will.i.am has a fairly specific fashion/hair style that would be easier to mock.Twelve said:

I just feel it's a waste of time to even think twice about wack stuff like that, much less bring it up on a thread dedicated to the new P album...
Wasn't entirely bad though, as it sent me back to

Posts: 588Posted 12 years ago #After seeing the 12 Step Program Commercial, my level of anticipation for the new album blew up. The beats and the rhymes are on point, and it's just what the doctor ordered for what passes by as hip-hop nowadays. According to the Youtube description, this is an "Unreleased song from People Under The Stairs 12 Step Program."
As for the Will-bashing. I have no problem with it. If the hip-hop community would have picked out specific people misrepresenting the culture from the beginning (on a consistent basis), we would not have had will-i-am or drake being categorized as hip-hop today. The music industry took note of this, took advantage, and hijacked the hip-hop label from us. For the most part, the younger generation doesn't know what hip-hop is, and this would only help to clarify things. Celebrities who misrepresent hip-hop are anti-hip-hop. Done.
Now back to 12-Step. I will be attending next week's album release party and I look forward to meeting a bunch of you this time. I also plan on attending the San Diego and L.A. shows later on. Lucky for me, I still have an old radio with a tape deck, so I'll be getting the PUTS tape. Can't remember the last time I got a tape, must have been over 15 years ago.

Posts: 975Posted 12 years ago #Waiting for the wax for my first listen...but from what I'm reading it sounds the sh!t. That commercial is bumping as f***...it's one of the best things they've ever done for me. Hoping it gets a release on vinyl.
Also copped the cd and cassette. Bought an 80's SONY (what else) Walkman a few months back after purchasing some cassettes from Redef. Got a sh!t load of tapes from back in the day...including all my old mixes which were strictly cassette.
