That's actually exactly what I meant when I said 12SP was like a greatest hits album of all new material (maybe I should't have used the words "greatest hits" cause I should've known that has a negative connotation among true music heads), and I completely agree that the album conceptually stands on it's own.

I think that 12SP incorporates everything that is great about their past work (LA nights/SF Knights, Acid Raindrops/Umbrellas, ... etc) while transcending it at the same time. (This explanation probably isn't any clearer, but whatever. I just think the album is fantastic)

haven't really posted up my thoughts on the new album yet... Been super busy. managed to pack in a few too many listens when first got it, then not listened so much in the last week. I need to do a focussed re-listen to compile my thoughts but overall it's dope. not saying my favourite ever, but seriously solid. Great sound and raps of course. Reefer is immense. And... just a lot of little pieces to pick up on! (And just listening to QITFOAA for the first time in a while. Still so good! The P just eternally dependable!)

Hey, everyone:

Go to SoundCloud and check out the DJ Day "In Store 12SP" mix. It's mostly just the album tracks in order, but some of the tracks (1 Up Til Sun Up, Get Hip) have some interesting mixing, and around the 30-min mark, there's some exclusive Pictures On My Wall rappin' that isn't on the album. (There might be more too, I'm only at minute 35 in the mix).

Saw this earlier today, downloaded it as soon as I got home! Not quite through suite for reefer, super excited to hear the rest! Super fresh. DJ Day throws it down again as always!

...don't know about anybody else but that WRLA jingle makes me think of 'Big Bill Wichrowski' from Deadliest Catch.

Just started watching the latest series and it's as gripping as ever. f*** knows how they can do that sh!t...I'm shitting myself just watching it!

The new raps in Pictures on My Wall are amazing. Its a prime example of why I love these sort of releases. Funner than Leather had some doooope raps. I was even thinking to myself the other week while listening to Funner that I wished they would do another release like that. Guess the P got my vibes! haha

So here are some questions for ya:

1) If you could only get ONE instrumental for 12 SP, which one would it be?
Note: If you name Ste for Reefer, you gotta specify: the part before the cut off, KK's 1st verse (hard drums), Thes's 1st verse (laid back), or the last two verses (the faster part).

2) If you could hear a DJ Day mix for a track, which one would you pick? Any other weird remixes you'd want to hear? (Like, maybe a Mega Ran 1Up mix or something?)

3) If you could snag an a cappella and do your OWN remix, which vocal track would you want?

Instrumental - Definitely LA Nights (but it would have to have the sample vocals in there). Alternatively, the opening for Ste for Reefer because it got cut off and I'd like to hear a full version.

DJ Day mix - I think it would be cool to do a Ste for Reefer mix with just one beat and maybe some different Back to the Future quotes from the sequels (2 is my favorite of the trilogy).

Been away fro a while on some personal ish. Just catching up on this thread.

12SP is so bomb I actually bought it 3 times (download, CD, LP). Get Hip and Roundabouts are on my all-time PUTS faves list. My only bugbear is how short it is, which strikes me each time I listen to it. I have actually forbidden my wife to take the CD out of her car. This week she's gone to Chi-town on business and she took my whip to the airport so I've been listening to 12SP with my dogs (bithces, actually) in her car this week and I swear I've been through it like 20 times.

Shame they didn't called it 20SP...

I know this got brought up a while back but I never found the answer. The bomb 12SP pre-release commercial PUTS released...

... is actually one of my favourite of the new tracks but, as we all know, it's not on the LP and, as yet, hasn't appeared to download anywhere... or have I missed it? I've ripped it from YouTube but you can tell the sound's compressed and I'd love to have a valid download of it.

Have I just totally missed something here or what? I get it, it's an exclusive, a teaser etc... but daaaaaaaaaaamn, I need this shizzle is my life.

maaaaaaayyybe there's an "Other Such Tracks..." or AMV2 type compilation in the works dedicated to leftovers from the past couple albums...
they've been touring a lot though and wonderful radio/kk solo albums are on deck, it'd be a long shot

Random thought: "Breakup Music" and "Yes I Can" are probably my least-listened-to tracks, but that filtered backing track to Breakup Music is a serious earworm. That sh*t won't leave my head for days if it gets in there...
