   I was just wondering what software you all use to make beats and whch you think is the best. I use AcidPro but my friend uses fruity loops and says its way better. So what would most of you say is the best? Is it Fruity , Pro or something else ive never heard of?

   I use Fruity....still learning but it seems pretty expansive and good if you get the hang of it. Does any one know if you can link up your decks to Fruity loops in order to add samples from records to the program......?????

   i think you can do that, just plug your line out from your mixer into your soundcard and record away, you can use a recording program like "audacity" which you can download for free im pretty sure, then you can just import the saved wav file into fruity and go from there. Im not sure if you can do it directly into fruity but you might be able to.. Im using a program called reason, but fruity is pretty good too, its really easy to learn and use and you can pretty much start to make music straight away. The fruity slicer is pretty cool as well to slice up your breaks and samples..

   You should try Ableton Live.
   I've been using it since version 3, its such dope stuff especially for hip hop.
   Chopping samples and drums is really easy in it and its a lot more expandable than fruity.

   Sounds good but I dont have $600!! I think I'll stick with Fruity!!

   i use my brain and transmit those thoughts to my akai S900 which then talks to my fostex 8 track through a mixing desk called "the slab" which then spits it out onto my PC...works for me.

   I use FL Studio..
   Pretty Cool once u get u too it.
   
   But I hear many people that use samples - or they cut their samples to loop
   When u Piano Roll it, on certain levels ex.(C5,) it won't loop unless it they raise it on the piano and then it'll go real fast.
   
   But something to fix that is to select the channel that ur sample is on
   and look for something called "Time Mul" which is short for "Time Multiplicator"
   it'll be under Time Stretching.
   
   Tweak these settings a little until ur samples sync in a perfect loop.
   
   Oh also a very integrate part in how samples loop in FL Studio...
   is to tweak the BPM/Tempo....
   Works with the Time Multiplicator

   i've been using Reason, then i load and chop samples in Soundforge and Recycle. Reason with an MPD is amazing.

    i´d say Reason... that what i used for the longest period before i got my mp 2000xl, i´d warmly recomend that piece of software !

    ive been messin with all sorts of beatmakers like a keyboard and software sh!t like reason and fruity loops but i think id use an mpc. those pads are essential.

    Anything with a good sampling engine and a user friendly sequencer. Once you've got that, it's really up to you.

    I've used frooty loops but Reason is way better. You can play it as a keyboard instrument or get tricky with the NNXT sampler and play it like an MPC if you have a pad midi controller. I also use Reason in Acid through ReWire.
    I highly recommend Reason.
