Posted 21 years ago #"We'll Be There"
Dub K
"Stomp ya feet, clap ya hands cause ya
listening to the sounds of the P-Funk band
Ain't nothing new in what we do cause we
doing it all just for you" x2
Dub K Verse
Check it out people I'm so glad your hear
I want my peoples in the front my peopls in the rear
To let go of your troubles Grab a chair and cool out
Turn up the stereo light up the blunt and crack the Guiness stout
"Mike you don't drink that" Yeah but it rhymed
And Ima keep goin flowing like the river little niggas
Since 1987 I've been puttin in work Like a single mother
Servin suckas and makin em jerks Big fluid when I do it
Everybody say go the cut creator of the hood and already a pro
Smokin up the fat gram and slam like Big Show a Bam Bigelow
To party down with the hos until the crack of dawn
And don't knowbody dare yawn Whaddup to Sancez and that little
homie Lime(?) Right now we on some wine light violin type
Make the beats late night so they come out and act right
Put a kick in your eardrum and you should expect
Nothing but the fly sh!t when we rocking your set
Damn right it's Thes one and Double K one time
Lay back wit a cool one, so let's do one ya get it
I'm like wit it when it comes to being hip
Hang out with old dudes just groove and talk sh!t
Close down on you rookies like your lady at bedtime
Next time you wanna rhyme just throw this in rewind
And relize the real lines and the dope sh!t being given
It's a privelidge like ya left, earn heard ya heard
Now Ima chill with my blunt and Guiness just let the track speak
To all the stupid ass people underminding streets
Yeah I know what that was when I street I mean real
The people under the gate steps serving ya thrill
Chorus "Sample"
Thes One
"Spanish" sounds like "Amni-ito" or something haha
That type of family beat born with an age limit
of like 38 and older for old dudes who pull dames
with game like a peachy folder for 40 holder's
Twist, tap and drop the cap when you feel it
Non sober sounds better a sort of a sweater
wearing groove gotcha ya feelin the jazz to make you wanna move
On to the next brew about to crack a new 32 shout
Going to my crew and especially Rahul
Andre, Brandon, Paul, Anthony, Mike, and me who can't
stand new music, rather bump the J-B's and stay ill
Changin'DATs pushing rocks up a hill, stupid sissy
"I stand firm" Ayo chill smoking beedies hanging out
the window sill watching the moon writing rhymes
making beats waking up at noon Diggin up old toons
thats the life for me and chillin with my best friend
who's name is MPC so Mike please see if my track is going to take
I gotta about a million rhymes and I don't know their fate
So one way or another, brother I promised to get heard
Yo this is just the second LP you can count on a third
Word and that's all I got before I go I gotta give a shout out
to Yuyo, Juan, Carlos and Tino, Lemme, Miguel something primos man I don't know..........Ima end this
with Enola, I'm out drinking all the Inca cola's with Rum so get
in the streets and act dumb Says right here People Under The Stairs
set rhymes to stun Aww man baby don't trip the record's not over
man all you gotta do is flip
Sample's cut "Yes Yes Y'all" "Rock On Y'all" -
Posted 21 years ago #thanks boneunit...
I think the first spanish bit is "amigitos" which means something like 'little friends'
and the second bit I think is something like "Juan Carlos and Tino Remi Miguel and graňes supremo, so I'll end this with a hola (which means hello)"
anyone help on this?
also:
crack the Guiness out "Mike you don't drink that" Yeah but it rhymed
I never heard Thes in that bit before, is kinda funny
can anyone hear what Dub K(?) says just after Thes One goes "set rhymes to stun", it sounds like "hey yall niggas are out?" and then Thes goes "aww man don't trip..."
WBT + Take the Fruit will be up on the site in a min
-
Posted 21 years ago #actually, with Take the Fruit what is the chorus?
It sounds like
Fruit! Waaaa, yeah on the fruit
Take all the cherries from the pacfield stores
...
Take the fruit take the fruit and scoot (or is it school?)
Yeah watch out for the sh!t(?)
Take all the strawberries, apples, and corns
also, what is these lines?
"For a bag of lemonheads and some swaypro(?) kids"
"...and go straight to daycare and if your listening we'll play (?)"
:-? opinions yall! -
Posted 21 years ago #Im on the LA Song Sensitive Mix; have it up here soon.
-
Posted 21 years ago #YoYo, the chorus in "Take The Fruit" goes like this I believe, "Fruit WAAAAA...Yeah all the fruit/ Take all the cherries from the pacville stores (chorus looped from a pacman record Thes has..I read it in one of the articles you posted Yo) and when it breaks down it goes "take the fruit, take the fruit and scoot..." Also for Dub's lines you were wondering about...he goes "for a bag of lemonheads and some suede pro keds..." Pro Keds are a shoe company... But I don't know what Double says on the part " go straight to daycaring if you listen than we'll play ?" Thats a mystery to me...Maybe someone else knows...I'm out..
Peace,

Posted 21 years ago #Denny's done The L.A. Song lyrics (up here) but there's some tricky bits, what do y'all think?
Double K, near the start said: I?m bout to make a call, get the news van out, explain to Tricia Toyota on how your crew ran out
There's a Tricia with a long asian name isn't there? I thought it might be Toyota so like KK was making a joke but I'm not sure
Double K, later on said: there?s phony people in LA, I counted, it?s a lot and if they haters stitch you a bullet, they claiming your block
not sure about the haters bullet bit
Thes One said: On this turf, my roots go deep like turbonerf, and the cops still sweat us, I roll on all blocks like I?m selling polenthas.
turbonerf? and polentas is like pasta or something, i don't think it's that
again with the Thes said: support LA team?s, stay tripping with Cal Green, OG Jerry Delphi when I?m on your screen
not sure of these names... -
Posted 21 years ago #YoYoPo I think the lyric is "my roots go deep like turbolerf.." cuz I think Thes is referring to a lawngrowing brand called turbolerf although I've never heard of it before. Also Double isn't making a joke about the reporter, I guarantee that Tricia something something is a famous reporter in LA, I just can't spell her last name(coradona or something). Thats all I know though, hope it helped.
Later,
Denny -
Posted 21 years ago #ok, ive been playing the song, and reading the lyrics, the things you pointed out YoPo, sounded on the ball to me,
but i found
"I make more fiend for beefing"
which i always heard as
"I make morphiene for beat fiends"
and
"neighborhood crack-heads and I know then"
i always heard being.
"neighborhood crack-heads and I know Ben", as some guy on the street named ben,
"Authentic people in the town, throw up your dubs take a drag"
i just love this one, no error
-
Posted 21 years ago #alright, thanks. I pumped it up real loud and I think it sounds more like turbonerf than lerf so i'll leave it like that for now and Thes One mentions Ben quite a bit so I reckon it's that...
I just did the lyrics for Good Co. (I love this track). I did it super quick though so there's a load of mistakes. I'm too busy right now to go over it so help me out
Yo it goes A to the B to the C to the D Rashaan and Thes One are good company, like Kim and Haj Jee, Rakim and Eric B, Dr Dre and DOC, we like paris and e, Biz Mark and Cool C, the boys in Heavy D, DJ Pooh and King Tee, Fab Five and Busy Bee, we're looking in the skip like Larry and Jack Tripper, with the white kid in flipper, a little bit hipper than crockin n tubs, we're burning dubs the plates them acetates'll rock late when you're up in the club, I'll concentrate on loving combination, for my life duration this is just as important as any occupation, staying on a level I'm riding with the treble and the boom-bip bass hits together like the beaters and the devils rap's looking dishevelled like teenagers in back seats where we rock beats
R: It's so complete
T: and it's so complete
R: it's something funky for your crew to co-bump in the streets (x4) -
Posted 21 years ago #also, check this is cool, while checking out stuff Thes says in LA Song:
Thes One said: I?m headed back to Pedro to sit up on the hill, next to the Korean Bell, eating busy bee, watching waves swell, high visibility, Catalina and sail boats...
