After Fun DMC things started moving really fast. We had the ten year anniversary show, then Coachella, UCLA Jazz Reggea, Bonaroo. We were really amped up. We were getting so much love from you guys that we decided to put everything aside - both of us were working on some solo stuff as alluded to in the other threads, and get down to what really mattered - another P album. This was in May. I got us a really good deal for it, we are back on Om Records. Kind of like a homecoming, they've been really cool and allowed us to release it this fall (which would have been virtually impossible for alot of other labels to do on such short notice). So we actually had a release date abck in may before we even had an album.
I deaded all of the live work and film stuff and started pulling 12-14 hour shifts in the studio 5 days a week starting in may making the beats for the album. We began tracking vocals in June and the whole record really was spontaneous and to the max. We absolutely had to get it in by Aug. 3rd to the plant if it was going to make the Oct. release date. If it didn't, then it wouldn't have come out till Feb. of 2010. So we figured that would be an unfair wait to the fans, esp. if we were capable of pulling it off.
so we did it. and its dope. And when we started because we were under a little time crunch we said "oh you know we'll make this album a little shorter, like 12 tracks, some normal length sh!t" and wouldn't you know it the damn record is 19 songs + interludes? God damn.
