Posted 16 years ago #when i saw cam'ron i stopped...and jumped out a window. to each their own, but y put up lists to advertise ur bad taste in musack? this is y i hate joining hip hop groups--or even reading hip hop blogs cuz mofos get me upset when they name their top 5 and it includes lil wayne, and master p--at that point im deleting my account cuz i realize will prolly never have a decent convo with them about music.
anyway, k.i.m... -
Posted 16 years ago #uuuh, na-na-na-na. master p is the sh!t...tiest rapper alive. you know it's bad when the majority of popular hip hop is dissed like 5 years later, even by the people defending the sh!t.

Posted 16 years ago #wack list for sure..
but when I scrolled through the list the madvillain album on #3 was a good surprise -
Posted 16 years ago #It makes up for the Cam'ron for sure.

Posted 16 years ago #That Cam'ron Purple Haze is a great album, I hope you guys are the typical undergrounders who can't get down with any album that even comes close to touching mainstream. If so you're as narrow minded as a mainstream hip hop who won't listen to anything else.
Half of yall probably never heard that album, and diss Dipset if you want but Thes in an interview even said he listens to them I think.
Anyways my rant is over, looking forward to the new album. -
Posted 16 years ago #yeh man, I'm with you, good hiphop is good hiphop, irrespective of whether its a mainstream club banger or underground...
I got some friends who turn their nose up at anything beyond J5 which although is great (I must confess I don't really listen to them anymore) is pretty safe.
Its no coincidence that these are friends whose music tastes aren't really based in hiphop.
however I gotta credit Shadow with the Funky Skunk mixtape (which got me into more crunky stuff), and Doom's Special Herbs mashups (one particular track was dark as f*** with Cam'ron and Ghostface), which helped me to understand different elements. -
Posted 16 years ago #Man co-sign everything you just said. I know the type of crowd you're talking mmmfreegoo. It's like the group of people who say they hate hip-hop but say that like Mos Def and Talib.
Anyways, just read my last post, and I come off pretty hyped. My bad, we're all P.U.T.S. fans here which means at the end of the day I like you people. It is BS not one PUTS cd is on that list.
Anyone have a favorite cd from this year? I know it's gonna P.U.T.S. when it drops but I heard that Slaughterhouse and Redman & Method Man album is kind of nice. -
Posted 16 years ago #Double was telling me that Red and Meth album is fire the other day too.
I got to check it out -
Posted 16 years ago #Fanboy list for sure. Jay-Z, Nas, Ghost, Masta ace, EL-P filled most of it. O.S.T. shoulda made it in there somewhere. I dont care if it was #50! Anyone who knows who MF, EL-P or even Del is, should know or have an idea of who the P is. I'll give these dudes the benefit of the doubt and say they must just not know about em. Someone send these guys a copy of OST
Since were on the subject though:
Deltron...mmm...okay
Cam'Ron? please
De La...f*** yes!
Common, Water for chocolate. Any thing Pre-Kanye I can get down with.
Common, Be...ho hum
Any of Eminems first few albums...yes
As far as Lil wayne and T.I. go, Ive never heard either album but the numbers dont lie.
Black Star missed it by 1 year, released in 98
Where's "Things fall apart!?" are you f***ing serious?
-
Posted 16 years ago #Ya Thes, Blackout 2 is pretty dope. Not quite the first Blackout but dope none the less.
2nd best duo of all time
Ay! Where's Blackout on that list!? Oh its best of the 00's. Thought it was the last decade. Either way, that list is Bull -
Posted 16 years ago #On the topic of Wu members. Anyone heard that new Raekown. Cuban Linx II?
-
Posted 16 years ago #"My name Jamal..."
I think Blackout 2 is the only new Hip Hop Album I've brought this year.
A few tracks really stick out for me, 'Ayo', 'I Know sumthin', 'City Lights'.
No wonder Double likes it, its a smokers album.
"Is that Donalds weed?!" (love that from the dvd)
Any rapper that mentions Kush gets my vote and add tupper wear to that and you're on a winner!
I've been mainly buying older Hip Hop albums this year 'Paul's Boutique'... What an album possibly the "best" (in my opinion) Hip Hop album ever?!!!
Cypress Hill 'Cypress Hill', so dope, phat beats and B Real's voice sounds so good. Muggs' production is so underated. This album is better than Black Sunday (although that has some dope tunes).
Also DJ Skully 'Bring it Back' a 2005 (I think) mix cd.
DJ Skully is one of the best DJ's in the world people need to know this!
Check out his 2002 DMC World Final set. So tight, musical and that Money jumper... Fresh!
He didnt win the final but Kentaro was something else that year "No walls between music".
Anyway I go on!
PEACE. -

It's good, but I'm really surprised / disappointed in how many beats on it have been used before.

I know what you mean, if anything I've just been bumping the original. -
Posted 16 years ago #Yeah, actually saw Meth & Red o tour last Saturday. Hadn't been that hype at a show since the last PUTS tour, those guys do it right and haven't at all lost a step! Inspectah Deck, Keith Murray, EPMD, Ludacris & Pitbull also performed at that concert and were real nice. But seeing Meth & Red and seeing Meth stage drive into the crowd was the real highlight.
