Posted 16 years ago #When I heard the new album was comin out so soon I was super pumped about seein the P again. So my question is: why is this tour so short in America, and why does it neglect so much of the country and hit a bunch of random spots instead of rockin Chi or realy anywhere in the midwest. I hope to hear that there will be more tourin after the record release, but it better not just be overseas. I feel neglected, and I'm sure my fellow Chicagoans would agree. Last year I drove from Richmond to B-more and the show was dope, but I'm not about to drive to any of the nearest cities to where I go to school (in chicago) since that would mean going to brooklyn. Anyone else feel this way?

Posted 16 years ago #Yeah, to go to a P show, as a high school kid in Seattle, the closest spot would be some (probably) 21+ joint in SF, that's no good. I haven't heard of any dates overseas, it doesn't make sense that they would neglect Chicago, Miami, anywhere in Texas, Seattle, etc.

Posted 16 years ago #Man what are you guys complaining about? Do you think this chat is more likely to make PUTS turn up in your town? The P is a global brand, and they have a lot of ground to cover. Quit your moaning, I'm lucky if i see a good hip hop act once a year where I live, even in my whole goddam country, and you yanks are spoilt for choice with the gig scene.

Posted 16 years ago #Hehehe. The music industry.
We show where we show up for whatever reason.
It's really simple: If you want to see us in Chicago, then make sure everyone in Chicago tells the guy who throws hip hop shows in town to BOOK PUTS. Because if he doesn't we aren't going to just blow through town and play at your local bar, ya feel me? We go where we get booked.
THis isn't a tour. It's a few shows on the east coast because we got booked. We'll play Chi-Town, you jsut got to give the promoters there time ot realize they NEED to book the P - we don't show up, knock on the door and start rockin' unanounced.
HELL IF ANYONE DESERVES A GOOD P SHOW ITS THE UK
but we're not going to just fly over and start rapping in front of big ben...they got to book us. (So call Jazz Cafe and tell them to get they ass in gear!)
its just business, nothing personal. And for the record we do about 1 show a year in LA.Thats it.

Posted 16 years ago #Yeah mobilise indeed. I'm currently looking for venue promotors who might be up for it and calling in a few favours from a few heads I know who put on nights. Grass-roots action... love it.

Posted 16 years ago #Man, I'm sure if the P isn't gonna come by my city this time, I'll catch them somewhere else. I'm just thankful that they're bringin' the fat beats again, two albums in just as many years. Thank you Thes and Double.

Posted 16 years ago #Ay Thes, if you're having any trouble getting any traction in Michigan, holler at me. I'll put the plugs in where I can. Hell, I might know a financier or two, who might help me book the damn thing.
Yeah yeah, I hope you and the family are doing well. It's been a minute, my brother. -

well there's a ban on playing loud music outside parliament anywayz so it was always out of the question (unless you whisper raps... can you whisper rap?) -
Posted 16 years ago #idk what the fuss is about, its clear its not a tour. hell, the album caught me by suprise. im just happy for that--got it on pre. course, i really cant complain yall r hittin the east coast....crumbs.
brazil and tha p = tha fun.

Posted 16 years ago #also this topic just makes me think that instead of griping, p fans can organize and mobilize.
for fans in the US, tha p will b in a3c in less than 10 days. get down there and see em. its a huge 3-day hip hop festival w/ over 100 artists in hotlanta (more like floodlanta unfortunately). here a a couple linx to hook u up if interested.
airtran discount travel + stay info
a3c discount on tickets:
show up and show ur support. i feel ur pain and empathize with u--99% of us fans dont have those connections to get tha p in our town, but if theres a will, theres a way. -
