Step Off:
[Spoken Sample:]
Somehow, pot and pills and assorted academics aren?t enough anymore. (Word!) I?m tired of a four-hour high or a twelve-hour trip or a book that changes my whole life for the better part of the week. I need something more? more than a pill or a pipe or a poem?
I need the hard stuff?
[Samples from previous P albums & others:]
Now, if I can at this moment?
Stop to present the hot, people under the got?
Back in the studio?
The unaccounted for?
We?d like to know?
Hey, man! Hold on, man! Why-hey! Hey! Why you steppin? on my shoes...
Back in the studio?
Ease back, check me out, I?m what it means to be black?
[Double K:]
?And I don?t stop the rock, and don?t stop the show
Wonder where we had, they turned off the lights, now we back
Stacking paper on the road, staying heavy, on track
Last album was funny, but this ain?t no joke, black
Nah, who am I kidding, man? We still having fun
Still smoking that sh!t, dude, the P just begun
On the one like George, it?s the Othership Connection
Heard the album that you put out, found it in the dollar section
Took it right back, didn?t even waste getting my money
Went straight to the lab, we getting rid of you dummies
Album number seven, please don?t feel lucky
Matter of fact, pack up, leave town, we don?t back down
The sound boy clasher, this thing he mastered
Still known for the funk, still chief party-crasher
Still hated by the critics, take a flight on tip
We shutting down publications
Chris, you heard what they said?
[Thes One:]
Ask me if I give a f***! Still don?t and still won?t
Quit the dope sh!t, my opus
Most you rap dudes are tragically hopeless
I wrote this here: ?Dear Bottle of Beer, my only friend
It?s been ten years, our peers overrated
All faded, and they hated us most times
This?s my last laugh in the form of a dope rhyme?
And signed ?Thes One
PS - Album number seven, year eleven now begun?
Partied out in cash like a paycheck
The rock stars of the rap world haven?t aged yet
API to tape deck, breakneck head-nod
We on ?cause we still care, the Godlike rap job
Popping sh!t in the booth on popstoppers
Time makes people show their colors like Gobstoppers
I stay proper with the grammar (like cammer?)
Raise a family, my son?ll be as bad as me
We forever the P!
[Slowed-down voice:]
You have officially been warned. We have just ordered all you weak motherfuckers Hearses, and we got your funeral planned. Dig this: Thes One. Double K. Carried Away. Make a (nigga?) say it again ?cause I heard (my profession?) said don?t do that. So why don?t you do this: kill yourself. Carried Away? So Carried Away? For all you idiots that funny? (?)? Carried Away?
[Thes One echo:]
Forever the P?
Forever the P?
Forever the P?
Forever the P?
Forever the P?
Forever the P? -

?And I don?t stop the rockin, and don?t stop the show
Wonder where we at, they turned off the lights, now we back
Stacking paper on the road, staying heavy, on track
Last album was fun, but this ain?t no joke, black
Time makes people show their colors like Gobstoppers
I stay proper with the grammar like gamma rays
Raise a family, my son?ll be as bad as me
We forever the P!
I thought it was like this, the bold bits were changes to what you did. I get such a buzz out of reading the lyrics whilst listening to them, it totally helps me memorize sh!t, whether i want to or not. Cheers Sactown. You going for the 200 posts or something? You seem to be in every forum topic up in here...

My turn, with Down In LA.
People Under The Stairs - Down In LA, as interpreted by yours truly, EarthTraveler
(Scratchin) We down here in LA...
Intro (Double K)
Eleven years man,
it's Double K and Thes One once again.
o-o-o-once again.
If we feelin' so cool right now, we could lay back and parler to the shades, we could do it like this yeah (My, My, My)
Double:
Hit to the paper on that daily grind
Don't trap, I don't snap but I make my words fine
Me and the Thes combined, like shower cats and sleep dudes
and call clubs pullin of the rags to cruise
Buck Crenshaw, no color glamourizing, fine chicken analyzing and the homies love glidin(?)
Only suckers be collidin, we got mouths to feed
Barbecue at the barbershop, they smokin big weed
And my man got them DVDs and CDs, five dollars at H-4-2(?), what's up to you
And everybody celebratin cause the Lakers just won, another reason for them tough guys to put away the gun (Word, just peace and fun)
We don't stop with the LA fun, we just begun
Rockstars out at night, you can see they all spun
Around midnight things really start to heat up
Cats get belligerent and drunk, get beat up
Roll by LAPD and take them hats off
Just use precaution, yeah them boys be watchin
So keep flossin with that P-sign tossin!
Everybody keep it right, I'm off to Crescent Heights like...
(Scratchin throughout)
(Aah), and you don't... You are theeere
(Aah), and you don't stop
(Aah), and you don't... You are theeere
(Aah), and you don't stop
(Aah), and you don't... You are theeere
(Aah), and you don't stop
(Aah), and you don't... You are theeere
(Aah), and you don't stop
Thes:
Welcome back to the west coast
Damn it feels good
Rollin clean style, limousine, smilin through the hood
Like one of those days, you feel you can't go wrong
A cloud in the sky, the DJ playin the song
And make the system
The winds are blowin offshore, street skaters kickflippin, in front of the liquor store
[What's up man]
What's up y'all, I came for another case
Hey Double at the barbecue, I hope that I'm not late
Huh, here save a plate
If I missed the brisket
Missed the 1-10 north-south of the visit
If it hits south swell, then I'm out in the cut
The best rapper in your town, five stars on Yelp
You see... it's Thes and Double K, holdin it down
The rental cars, small-time stars all up in your town
Take key, take weed, take whatever you need
Meet me at the barbecue, up the block at three
You see... we all city, all state, all world
If you get drunk, party with the fine young girls
I'm a better MC, than all your homeboys who rap
Double K hooked up the beat with the hand clap (Fantastic beat Double
It's like that y'all and you don't stop
(Scratchin throughout)
(Aah), and you don't... You are theeere
(Aah), and you don't stop
(Aah), and you don't... You are theeere
(Aah), and you don't stop
(Aah), and you don't... You are theeere
(Aah), and you don't stop
(Aah), and you don't... You are theeere
(Aah), and you don't stop
Yeahhhh
Outro (Double K)
213-231oooh(0)
This is for all the cars, clubs and barbecue pits
Hood rats lookin for them dollars
And the OGs givin game to the youngsters
Keep doin that, we need it
And all the homies, that don't use violence to settle their problems
You know what I'm sayin... (I do Double, spread the word homie)
For everybody that likes to have fun, in the sun
Especially with us, the PUT and the S!!!!!
Double K and Thes stay so fresh!!! (amen)
Also wanna give a shout-out to the 606, 909, yeah and even the 714
People Under The Stairs, y'all write it down yeah
It's all good
Give some love to y'all, you know what I'm sayin
So uhm, go flip that barbecue over
Light that up, pour yo mama a drink
And just... ride, ride
Just ride
Yeah, just ride
(?) too now, yeah
(Scratchin throughout)
(Aah), and you don't... You are theeere
(Aah), and you don't stop
(Aah), and you don't... You are theeere
(Aah), and you don't stop
(Aah), and you don't... You are theeere
(Aah), and you don't stop
(Aah), and you don't... You are theeere
(Aah), and you don't stop
Beat slowly fades.
Such a dope, dope track from the homies.
Keep em comin, Double and Thes
To another ten years.
Please, feel free to correct, where you think needed.
I might put up the lyrics to Carried Away next, if I find the time (which I probably will X-D) -

I was actually going to dress up as Marge for Halloween this year (I was a St. Pauli Girl with a five o' clock shadow last year, and it got a lot of laughs), but the logistics of that blue beehive hairdo are too hard, so I'm either doing Homer... Or Shaggy from Scooby Doo (have to be a TV character 'cause it's the theme at work). I wonder if I'll look racially insensitive if I paint my face yellow?

For now, Teeth, and probably also later on this day Chicken Kebap.
Intro:
I wanna let you know
I really have to go, to see my dentist
Thes:
Oh god, what the f***
Goddamn my teeth hurt, sittin in the chair

Hey yeah, I got insurance, just take the damn X-ray
[Double] What's wrong?
The dental assistant, is a big friggin essay
[Double] Your teeth are f***ed up
Yeah, thanks, tell me something I didn't know
Ain't been in the chair, since ten years ago
And now he's lookin mad at me, cause I got cavities
The dentist is pissed, with the the tool gum stabbin me
The drool from gravity's all over my shirt
The dentist grabbed his drill
And is like, aight, tell me if this hurts
[Aaah f***, goddamn it]
[Double] Hey, hey, calm down, lo
He's grabbin(?) up the drill, I can taste my tooth smoke
And then, this fine girl comes in, like Portugal (Thes)
Your dental insurance is invalid
Oh, word

I really have to go, see my dentist
[Double on background] (Hey, f*** you essay, man
You f**king pays(?), holmes
You f**king pussy
You f**king pussy, scared of a girl, holmes)

And a line of friends (?), that never ends
And funds, and drugs, and lots of perfectly wonderful parties
And one day, you too(2), maybe become three

(jibberish...c'mon buy everyone a drink...)
Are you sure you can afford it??
It was a friday night everybody was drinking
The ladies were upset cause the breath was stinkin'
and it wont be long 'til we start the funk
cause double's gonna get drunk buddy
thes one's gonna get drunk buddy
everybody get drunk buddy
crack the 40 who's down to get plastered
I get the party started with the Arrogant Bastard
The homey stay stoned, the wifey get boned
I keep her ass pregnant, drive my drunk ass home
cause she likes the beer like I like the brew
pump the pony keg, refilling my 22
with the ales, pilsner, lager, or the stout
Hops 'til the party stops, I make the people shout
call the cops, call his pops, somebody carry him home
royalty at Bevmo, my party well-known
got the full sale whole sale, not the nobel
sometime Chimay, yellin' like TIMMY!
You fellas a keep Stella, keep it domestic
My big old Fat Tire, time to get reckless
Wherever I'm at, yo the party's right here
You like Ed Hardy, we like BEEER!
Now who wants a 40? (we want a 40)
Who wants a quart? (we want a quart)
You want a 32? (NO!)
You want the whole keg? (yeah!)
Well leave it up to me to start the party off right
take shots from your cup
we gonna do it all night
cause I like drinking 'til I can't see
and if your in your right mind stay away from me
anything from OE, to PBR, when it comes to getting drunk I'm a superstar
Got drunk in Japan (wah), drunk in front of my mom
drunk in front of the Alamo, smoking the bong
You could feel a little woozy, I hurl in your 'cuzi
threaten to shoot the party up with a toy uzi
to my kidneys and liver, your time is near
you like hanging on twitter
and we like beer
word!
40-ounce in my lap and it's cold as hell!
Can't stop won't stop drinkin' on a pop top
I get drunk cause, I get drunk because
this here's a beer song for dudes who like beer
yo, you don't like beer?
get the f*** out of here!
No man, I really think you should go home
You poured me a beer and my beverage was all foam and Keystone
The liquor store connassour who's well known
at the San Franciscan, looking like Snake?
Detroit ghetto blaster, Racer #5, even Ying Ling keep the party alive
????????
Abbey Road, Lagunitas
And what have we, the dude sud savvy
I'm ruthless crabby 'til I strap one on in good cheer
I'll f*** you up in beer pong right here
yeah, get my twist like new years
you like TMZ, we like beer
UNDERSTAND!! (fucker)
when I was 17, I asked the old man
to take a couple quarters and buy me a tall can
back then, it was all about 8-ball, St. Ines
good brew hanging out with my crew
sometimes we'd get the Night train or the Thunderchicken
I thought it would pass, the nigga's still sippin'
I go hard, like when I first wake up (boing)
Crack a cold one, and pour that sh!t in my cup
Now here comes the madness, the night like Gladys
call me dyno-wino, see I'm the badest
Word to Cash, this bud's for you
They should put me with the monkeys down in LA zoo
and you can come see me, for a small fee
watch me get drunk with my family
you could take it to the bridge I take it to the fridge
make sure it's real quiet, so I could hear the fizz
when you see me in public, know my bottle is near
ya'll niggas like tight pants, we like beer -

People Under The Stairs - Carried Away.
Carried away...
Carried away...
Carried away...
Carried away...
Carried away...
Carried away...
Carried away...
Carried Away...
[Aha] Carried Away...
Double:
Welcome to the other side of SPs plugged in
That's how we get live, word to '95
When n*ggers was on the block, doin the cosmic slop
Anything to get herbed, sayin we done, that's absurd
It's more than makin the beat, it's more than rappin
It's more than gettin drunk, MCin, all the party folks clappin for real
What we doin, saved a lot of brothers lives
Including my own and eleven years you watched us grow
So to you, I sip the LA fitted
We still get it, like an outfielder
We stood the test of time
Been in both hemispheres, with passports and a rhyme
And anything non-funky gets left behind
Our time to shine is here, let me make that clear (It's the P, baby!)
All of y'all can stop, pass the wheel and we'll steer
Not a weekend fling, but some silly pass time
sh!t, I live this every day
I'm gettin carried away, hah!
I wanna get carried away!
Carried away...
I wanna get carried away!
Carried away...
I wanna get carried away!
Carried away...
I wanna get carried away-ay-ay-ay-ay!
Thes:
How we used to say, it's all good, right...?
It's like the late night music, with your favorite
Seein daylight rise on a cold morning
Slap in the face, like a life lost with no warning
You never ready
So many friends gone, some alive
Most drift, like a leaf in a strong breeze
Catch a lift on the memories, you uplift
The good times were a gift
Even enemies seem to have a purpose
Like the bomb, by the contrast of long last journey
You play 'em off now, Bernie
When I drink that, I think back
Try not to get jaded
So (?), like the first time faded
If you quit, now you let down the kids
The fresh sound amidst all this despair, economy and hate now
I need it more than ever, that's what Biz told me
Thes One and Double K, like Muno and Broby
We came to break it down, climb back inside the radio
Picked up by the DJ and carried away, so...
I wanna get carried away!
Carried away...
I wanna get carried away!
Carried away...
I wanna get carried away!
Carried away...
I wanna get carried away-ay-ay-ay-ay!
Carried away...
I wanna get carried away-ay-ay-ay-ay!
Carried away...
I-I-I wanna get, I-I wanna get carried away-ay-ay-ay-ay!
I-I-I wanna get, I-I-I-I-I wanna get, get, get, get.....
Sick, sick, sick ass beat continues, fades
&
Silence.
My utmost gratitude, to the P, Thes One & Double K.
Who keep on blessing us, with beautiful music.
Showing us, there's still quality Hip-Hop out there
Here's to another 7 albums and 11 more years of musical dope, doing what you guys do best.

People Under the Stairs ? My Boy D
Dub:
The year was summer, 1972
Young black male graduated fresh out of high school,
Dreams of hitting college, he heard about the parties
And had a taste for knowledge, but wasn?t aware of fees
Tuition, books and housing, scholarships not rollin in,
And Mama worked two jobs.
Daddy left home years ago, owed money to the mob,
So the boy went for dolo, and raised himself.
He took money from the wealthy put it on his mama?s shelf.
Anyway he got a letter in the mail one day,
Thought it was his ticket, opened it, he was on his way,
But DAMN, no assistance from the government,
Looked out on his block, and thought about hugging it.
Heard a couple stories about this cat around the corner,
Who had a clean roham (?) with diamonds in the back,
Every time that brother rolled by, he tipped his hat.
He wanted that, if he couldn?t hit the books,
Never in his black dreams did he think of being a crook.
But look, no jobs getting offered by the man,
He put a hole in his basketball and came up with another plan.
Chorus:
My boy D, got a white Cadillac,
Yeah you can get it but you never coming back,
My boy D, got a white Cadillac,
Sunroof, window tint, diamond in the back,
My boy D, he got a white Cadillac
Yeah you can get it but you never coming back,
My boy D, got a white Cadillac,
Sunroof, window tint, diamond in the back.
Thes:
He?s in and out of jails, in and out of bars,
Wood trim county courtrooms and wood trimmed cars,
It keeps him Hollywood, swinging in the shadows with the stars,
Eight blocks from the studi (?) fox, roll down the boulevard,
Real slow, the hustler making dough,
The Greyhound runaways, a pocket full of cash flow,
Keep every last ho on astro, while each smell,
Rolls a butterfly lapel and red rose in the charelle (?)
So he?s always moving slow in the Coupdeville,
He got the six-shot revolver, he shoot to kill,
He gives the abazaba(wtf?) to the children living on his block,
He doesn?t talk, no talk, he just walks the walk.
And now one of them is gone and he wants to have his back,
Friday night, so revue he said lets meet at mavericks flat,
Got the booth in the back with the red telephone,
Young man call your momma tell her you ain?t coming home,
The first task, hit on the flask, chisel the glass,
Welcome to the rest of your life, you?re first then you?re last,
Lets go?
Dub: Take this, put it in your pocket, we gonna make some dough?
Chorus:
My boy D, got a white Cadillac,
Yeah you can get it but you never coming back,
My boy D, got a white Cadillac,
Sunroof, window tint, diamond in the back,
My boy D, he got a white Cadillac
Yeah you can get it but you never coming back,
My boy D, got a white Cadillac,
Sunroof, window tint, diamond in the back.
Dub:
Now it?s ?79, we talking about jail time,
Got caught up selling dust off in the county line,
Thoughts about that day he got that piece of mail,
Was looking to meet his professor, instead he had smack to sell,
Classic story, good brother gone bad,
Could?ve been a little rider (?) if only he had his dad,
It?s kind of sad, but we all seen it plenty of times,
Especially if you niggas heard some Mike D rhymes?
WORD?
As always, get the corrections in. I f*cking love this beat man, it's just ridiculously funky. Didn't realise how hefty the lyrics were till I transcribed it. But the beat is so good, the different layers of samples are ridiculous, and the sample change at "And now one of them is gone and he wants to have his back" gives me f*cking goosebumps! AWESOME
