Just saw Fantastic Mr. Fox and it was incredible....especially the random dance scenes. I can't compare this yet to 'Up' for best animated, but it's a toss up for sure. -

yeah, i liked the insect episode, that crazy beetle that forced himself on the female, mated, then chucked her out the tree. ace.

I cannot believe that Oprah sh!t. No offence americans, but seriously, wtf. I dunno, every time i hear something like that, i can help but wildly generalise about the average level of american intelligence. What's wrong with attenborough? he's the main man when it comes to naturalism. why change the programme at all? Is it because tv execs in the US assume that americans don't have the smarts or the attention span for attenborough? Oprah ffs? jesus...
If you guys are interested in Life, you should also check out, "Planet Earth", "Life in the Undergrowth" (all about insects), "Life in Cold Blood" (reptiles) "Natures Great Events" (what it says on the box), "The life of mammals" and "Blue Planet" (all about aquatic life). Every single on of them is epic to the highest level... -

Saw it for the first time when I was like 18, so I'd forgotten a lot of it... boxing movies aren't really my favorite, but this movie is ridiculously amazing. I think it was Joe Pesci's breakout film too (just think, there might've been no "Home Alone" if this movie hadn't been made!!! AHHH!!!).
All I have to say though is that the scene toward the end where Sugar Ray beats the sh*t out of La Motta (Robert DeNiro) on the ropes has some of the craziest cinematography ever. That extended shot of Sugar Ray just staring at him right before the blows fly is, like, burned in my brain. The actor that plays Ray looks like a maniac. -

So true, I remember watching this movie and just thinking how amazing it had looked, Scorcese really did a good job setting up these shots. They seem so impersonal yet full of action, it's crazy. Like, beyond words. -
